  1. I've got it !!! The SMP Chrono see my post!!!!!
  2. What Tag??? The hangtag is there if that is what you mean. It came complete and I even got my guy to throw in a PO custom polishing cloth
  3. Pardon the lackluster pics but behold my newest Gen addition to the collection!!! The beloved SMP Chrono!!! I want to thank many of my RWG bros for introducing me to the beauty of this model. By-Tor, Eilix, R2, DeepSea and all the others!!! The moment I saw many of your gorgeous modded reps I knew I had to have the gen. (I tried for a fully modded rep but one never came my way) So I picked it up today from my AD. The newest model has wire wrapped markers like it's Co-Axial little brother rather than the older style honey drop lume markers . I am more than blown away by this watch and rather at a loss for words. It wears every bit as comfortably as my gen Rollies and they are most definately in my opinion is the high water mark with respect to comfort. It looks much bigger than it's 42.5 mm. So again my thanks for turning me on to it.
  4. Awesome. I always wanted a Military Submariner!! Lani are you going to go for a patina-ed look or are you going to have the hands refinished, and use a clean white Rolex lume and make it look brand new??? I know the more authentic and badassey look would be to go for a yellowed patina lume and leave the hands a bit roughed up but God Damn if I would love to see one fully restored and brand ass new looking
  5. Yes looks correct. I would also order a crown and tube as well though. Much better and more durable than the rep crown!!! Good luck
  6. Otto Frei - ofrei.com
  7. Haven't seen one at my AD yet!!!
  8. If you don't have access to a viable watchsmith to service, repair or regulate your reps I would stay away from the asian 7750. Just my opinon, far too unreliable out of the box and not neccesarily because of the movement alone but even more so factory quality control. Now if you get one and can have someone service it right away your gold because it's can be an excellent movement properly serviced. Both the Asian and Swiss 7750's are complex movement and tend to need more attention than simply taking them out of a package and popping them in a watch. They should be properly oiled, regulated and with a good amount of care. Just my opinion
  9. Gorgeous!!!!
  10. Tried on the Gen tonight. All black wave dial automatic (Not the poopy Bond model) Exactly like the classic SMP but in all Black. Awesome watch in person!!! They just got in in today and only got one from Omega.
  11. Yes exactly like that only a Gen. I would definately be a Gen just like that!!!
  12. http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z138/be...rf/P1010839.jpg Which promptly died and had to go it for a full service and regulation the day I got it back with all the geniune Otto Frei parts installed (This past Saturday)Parts I waited not too patiently for a month to arrive. On the flip side when It comes back from Rex I will have a fully modded, fully serviced, regulated and cleaned UPO to last a lifetime I actually owned the gen when it came out. Dumbest thing I ever did was to sell it even if it did fund an LV sub
  13. Black with waves and no 007 might be quite cool. Exactly like the SMP but in black.
  14. Thanks All but not I have encountered a serious problem. The movement stops when I am not wearing it. I suppose I didn't notice because as soon as I got my parcel back I threw in on a nato and didn't take it off until late last night when I noticed something funny. About 20 minutes after I set it on the winder it died. Picked it up gave it a shake and about 20 minutes later sure enough dead again. Gave it a very full wind and 20 minutes later dead. Every time the second hand had stopped at the date window which I thought was quite wierd or maybe quite telling for a trained watchsmith. Any ideas??? I popped of the case back and dust cover and everything looks ok, no loose screws floating around and the rotor seemed nice and tight. I know it is likely an easy fix for a watchsmith and even swapping out the eta for a new one is not a huge deal to me but what the hell could the problem be???
  15. Yes Omega did raise their prices as did Rolex and the other high end Swiss Watch houses. Omega is trying to raise their cashe and prestige and part of that unfortunately for us means raising their list prices to near Rolex levels (or at least just below that neighborhood) that being said the bigest prestige pre owned bargains happen to be Omegas. You can find absolutley mint Pre owned SMP, POs and Speedys from reputable dealers at nearly 50% list. I will be purchasing either the new Black SMP Bond or more likely a SMP Chrono this summer and have already found the Co-Axial Bonds (Not the Black ones but the blue) and Chrono's mint for around $1500-1700.00. I would be warry of the Bay though we have seen here how close our modded pieces are to genuines. There are a few very reputable dealers on the bay though and of course many grey market and secondary dealers like Alan Furman and Bernard Watches. Many more if you look!!!
  16. Just got my Vactastic UPO back from it's Florida spa treatment and HOLY F-ing Wow!!! I owned this Gen piece about a year ago but decided to sell it to fund the purchase of a Rolex LV. I always missed it but upon opening my package from Vac today all those pangs are gone!!!! I got this watch from a fellow supporter about a month ago and it already had been modded with gen hands, crown, tube, HE valve and the dial had been flavlumed. Already very awesome!!!! But seeing fellow Spartans that went all the way with the mod (Dial and Crystal) I knew I had to take the plunge!!!!! Boy am I glad I did. Vac's one week turnaround and impecible work helped as well!!! Please enjoy the pics!!! God damn I love this watch!!!! For under $1000.00 bucks I have essentually a gen with some super rep parts. Next up I have to find a bezel insert and pearl for Vac to swap and the project will be complete as the previous modder epoxied the pearl into the insert and vac could not get it out. Ohmegaman where are you brother???
  17. Don't know but I heard they hired Jim Skelton as an artistic advisor
  18. I believe this will be my next Gen. Seems they can be had for around $1700.00 in excellent shape with papers. Gotta have one. Thanks alot ByTor for corrupting me.
  19. Once you get it out of the box from a trip to The Zigmeister or Vac your lume will look every bit as good as a gen !! Best out of the box replica Lume experience period
  20. Gorgeous piece. I owned it's predicesor (gen without the Co-Axial movement) and boy do i miss it!!! Flat out beautiful robust watch
  21. Beautiful as always Watchtime would be proud to have you Puggy
  22. Nice review my boy!! I owned the gen Pumpkin PO which I sold to help fund my Rolex Sub LV. Always missed the PO though!!!! So I purchased a semi fully modded UPO from a fellow board member whom had swapped out the crown tube and HE valve for genuine parts from Ofrei. He also had the dial lumed by Flav which glowed and had the same staying power as the gen. He also had something done with the pearl lume and I believe it was filed down some that it had a lower profile in the bezel. Also sported a set of genuine hands from Otto Frei as well. So after a week of initial love I still find much to nitpick with it. The dial though with the same lume as a gen still bugged me. The Omega symbol, the slightly off matte finish to the dial were driving me batty. Also as you pointed out the crystal had to be dealt with as well. The solution to both> Gen Dial and Gen crystal from Otto Frei. Which are currently on the way to one of our more respected modders. When done it's all said and done it will have gen dial, hands, crown, tube , HE valve, crystal and a gen clasp and clasp end links. The moral of the story is this hobby can become very addicting and fun as well as expensive.
  23. No offence ,... really this must be the dumbest topic ever and that's saying quite a bit.
  24. My go to local watchsmith said he couldn't fix mine. (YES I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN AS WELL). Tried out the rubber strap for about a week which I absolutely hated!!! Not ambitious enough to try out my fellow forum mates interesting sounding repairs so I ordered a gen clasp and clasp end links from Otto Frei (Ofrei.com) I also ordered a gen dial and crystal to round out the already modded with gen crown, tube, HE valve and hands. As with most of their Gen Omega parts you will have to play the waiting game. I am finally getting my gen crystal and dial and the Gen clasp is still on backorder (was told it may be about 3-4 weeks from the time I ordered it) As a side not I will have a Flav lumed UPO pumpkin dial to sell or swap when my project is done as the previous owner had him lume the dial when the other mods were done
  25. Congrats!!! God Damn The Zigmeister is a genius!!!!
