Saw that yesterday .... Would be neat to see if one of our little family members picks it up for a project
-
Wow I would die to go, unfortuantely I spent all my money on the gen Rolexes I would be going to see!!! Congrats!!!!! It would be very cool if you could give us all a blow by blow report I am dying to see if Rolex supercases all Sport models and if the sub will also go ceramic. I have heard the possiblities of a daytona wi date ala the Tiger Tudor. Personally I hope they leave the subs alone and do something cool with the Explorer II. I think it has the potential to be the flat out coolest sport model without the tini crown and a supercase maxi dial and the old retro orange hands. (hopefully i time for my tax rebate!!!) Have fun should be a blast !!!

Thanks Alot Brother !!! Looks like I wait until may. Though the one Angus has for sale does have seconds at 12. It does not say swiss made at 6
-
Looking at Angus new site and the AP ROO black dial on steel really caught my eye. Both he and Trusty offer what I think is the same watch with Swiss Valjoux upgrade. Anyone know if they are they same piece because one is priced lower than the other and I would like to know what some of your opinion are of the watch, how accurate is it, what is off ect. It may be my next aquisition but I want to be damn sure this time. I don't want to have to do any major mods. The gen has no AR so that won't be an issue, The AP Lume I saw on my friends gen AP RO Chrono was as bad as rep lume so that won't be an issue either. Don't want to have to swap datewheels, do any sanding, you guys get the idea Help would be most appreciated

For those interested a seller in Turkey on ebay is selling a crown and some other parts.

Screw Tourneau and screw Howard Frum !!!! If you live in Chicago go with Razney's in either Highland Park or in Addison. They are always wonderful to deal with I purchase my gens from them or Jared (although Jared does not have Breitling and only their St. Charles, Aurora and Orland stores have Rolex- I prefer St. Charles) Wore my RXW MM20 into Razney's one time and they all fawned on it and wanted to know about it while I purchased a Rolesium Yachtie!!! Sorry to disagree with anyone but I prefer to deal with Authorized dealers especially with what we know about replicas using gen parts . I would never buy a Rolex from anyone but an AD.

Bring me back an autograph from Andy Lau and watch out for Cecilia Cheung's hairy pie

How about my Z Gen LV Kermie with my new SSD for comparison Good lord am I glad I bought my LV when I did about 4 months before the latest price increase, $6300.00 plus tax from authorised AD for a steel watch, F-ing crazy!!!!! And the list for my tt Ceramic GMT which I traded with cash to my friend for my steel GMT is now $10,000.00 !!!!!

Love the SSD jsut got the newest version with beefier bezel and better bracelet. Out of the box I was really stunned by accuracy and quality!!! Especially as someone who owns four newer Genuine Rolexes. It sits proudly in my winder next to my Gen LV Kermie!!!! I am torn as to weather I should have it lumed or leave it alone as the Lume is actually pretty good, not Rolex good but glows pretty brightly. The Lume on the Gen isn't blowtorch bright anyway. Not the best photographer but here is a pic of my SSD with my Gen LV.

New SSD Andrew comes thru again - Giorgio opinions?

Not sure but I hear Jay is a great and very honest dealer. Why don't you ask him I hear he is a good communicator -
Love the look !!! I actually swapped my caseback with one that has the correct Officine Panerai font. I also had mine Super Lumed with the exact Lume to Gen where the hands are more white and the markers got the correct pale green. My guy even did the iner tiny little indicies dots. Also had the seals greased and pressure tested to 100 m. Cost about $150.00 and over a months wait to have the Lume and seals done from Everest Watch Works (sorry The Zigmeister I wanted your magic but you were not taking work ) . I tightened my lever the old fashioned way with care and a pair of needlenose pliers, while it locks up good and tight now it still has that annoying tiny gap where it doesn't sit quite flush with the case. I've had mine on steel but when I first bought it a picked up a gen gator strap with contrasting white stiching. It certainly is a real tank!!! But I decided to put it up for sale or trade. Not sure why but as cool as it is just doesn't sing to me and I don't wear it. If anyones curious you can check out pics in the Members trade area including the (I feel) improved caseback. If a trade or right offer for it doesn't come along that I like I think I'll keep it and mod it out a little more. V has excellent replacement crown guards available but he is not sure if the lever will sync up with the Crown correctly. The Double AR is good but I think it's more blue tint than actual AR and either the Chief's or K's AR would look quite sweet !!! I would be thrilled if someone comes up with a way to snug up the bezel a little better. Christ now you have me excited maybe I'll end up keeping it. It is a flat out cool watch especially with the lume. arktos1.bmp

2 of my gen Rollies (an M series Ceramic GMT and Z series LV Kermit) purchased from my AD came with the new clear sticker which I took off and stuck to the back of my Rolex credit card. As a gen owner I am glad they did away with this, the whole fussing about the hologram sticker on back was ridiculous anyway. On my other two gens I left one sticker on which has become a bit worn down over the last two years and the other I peeled off and sold for $75.00 on the bay (prob to one of our little family members here to complete their project) On another subject I just got my new SSD from Trusty with the newest bezel and bracelet improvements and I gotta say it looks very comfey nestled next to my 4 gens in the old winder. I doubt they will worry too much about the new clear sticker. The next trick will beto accuratley replicate the Rolex RRR on the inner rehaut like on my M series Ceramic and to dublicate the new certification credit cards.

New SSD Andrew comes thru again - Giorgio opinions?
tanya replied to tanya's topic in The Rolex Area
Wow $3100.00 for a Gen that's quite a steal especially with the recent near $1000.00 price increase across the board. I usually buy all my gens from an AD though, just to be sure. There's a seller on ebay watchcoaustralia who has a Rolex movement and parts blowout about once a year. A nice mix of minty 3135's , 3030's and some of the older non quick set movements. The 3035's went for around $1000.00 while the 3135's went for about $1200.00. Of course we would need hands as well but aftermarket 3135 sub hands are no biggie. If I can land a 3035 or 3135 for a good price I'll pull the trigger but for now I'm going to enjoy this amazing beast!!!!!! And of course bug you for CG mod help in the near future. -

Brother Carlsbad, Datewheel looks pretty good perhaps a tiny bit too much to the right compared with my gens. I am thinking of swapping out the movement for a 3135 at some point -
New SSD Andrew comes thru again - Giorgio opinions?

Weel one of our two resident SD experts, Giorgio Armani, showed us a new slightly improved version of the SSD that has a taller bezel and better bracelet. This is the same one I believe fresh from the sweatshop, I mean factory!! -
Just for kicks I figured I share a pic of this beauty I have owned for quite some time. The debate over whether this is a rep or homage piece cracks me up. Regardless Rolex is the only one that can claim the original design and suckers paying $25,000.00 or more for the gen Panerai 1950 which is essentially the same watch as the RXW or many of our similar reps for that matter makes me chuckle!!! This is my second RXW MM20 the first had the plastic crystal which always made the dial seem rather lifeless to me. This one has the AR coated sapphire which from an aesthetic point of view makes the watch an entirely different timepiece. This one also has the improved CG, much snugger fit and better lever. Glows like a campfire!! The Connelly strap is awesome !!!! The box set is nice as well but sits in my closet with all my other Gen Rolex box sets. If you can find a gen RXW like this my advice is to snap it up. Alot of watch here for the money and to my knowledge I have never heard of an exploding RXW crystal.

LV Sub no doubt about it. I got mine before the latest price increase and I love it. I believe the new AD list is $6300.00 !!! I have heard they may stop making it and I have heard they may make less of them and I have heard they may go to a poured ceramic bezel and supercase. Regardless to me there is nothing like a gen Rolex whether it be Sub, Yachtie, GMT or Sea Dweller. (just got my SSD rep today by the way to join my 4 genuine Rolexes, so far it feels right at home). Bottom line is you can never go wrong with a Genuine Rolex and as much as Panerai has been popular for the past 10 years or so you will never ever have to worry about a Rolex being the flavor of the day or trendy. And talk about in house, you can be assured that every bit of a Rolex is made in the enormous green glass building in the Alps that says Rolex on it. Even Audemars can't make that claim nor can Patek. Rolex brother Rolex all the way, Panerai make for nice reps but will never see my money for a gen. My gen Ken's Trading RXW MM 20 fits my Pam kick very well.

Ordered on Wed received this morning. Andrew once again answered each of my questions including whether I would be getting the new slightly enhanced SSD with slightly fatter bezel and better bracelet that Gio so nicely showed off to us last week. Well I got just that !!! Bracelet screws machined very nicely (no gluey substance on them) Bezel moves like my gens (maybe a tad bit louder but no biggie) Anyway I took a few pics for our two resident Sea Dweller experts Giorgio and Carlsbad to scrutinize. Tried to take a decent pic of the bezel but photograpy even with an $800.00 camera is not my strongsuit. I also took a pic of it next to my Gen LV Kermie for comparison. I plan on taking a crack at the CG's at some point when I get the courage but I may let my watchsmith do it with a light dose of Superluminova (lume not too bad as it stands, hands a bit weaker than the markers). Enjoy!!

What PAM is Schwarzenegger wearing in 'Eraser'?
tanya replied to DemonSlayer's topic in The Panerai Area
Don't know but he was wearing an Invicta Russian Diver in last months Esquire magazine. Wonder how the Audemars Snobs took that one -

For what it's worth I just chatted with Andrew from Trusty and he assured me his is the Best Super Sea Dweller. He hasn't let me down yet so I ordered one tonight. Will let you all know and post pics when it arrives. ANTICIPATION......ANTICIPAAAAAAATION -
Thanks Brother By-Tor I have recieved many helpful ideas on the subject and the seller is attemting to make things right. He is a decent guy (Eddie and or Seadweller3) and he certainly did not mean to misrepresent the piece. Done alot of reading on TW and MBW ect. Funny as an owner of 4 genuines I should have been more careful. I guess I'll have to mod my way through the inaccuracies and I suppose that is part of the fun. So I am going to hang on to it. Now can someone point me in the right direction with respect to some mods?? Already ordered a Clark crystal for it and praying it will fit but will I be able to aquire a correct HE valve and will someone be able to drill holes in the lugs?? Any input from the experts would be most appreciated.
-
Looks like the RWG member Eddieplatt changed his name to Seadweller3. Anyway if you are reading this bro do the right thing. No hard feelings if you make it right.
-
Thanks I already contacted the seller Eddieplatt to inform him this is not an MBW. As he was the second owner I assume the original owner and or Joe told him it was an MBW. Hopefully he be an honest guy and will offer to refund my money and I can go after the SSD per your recommendation. Pisser is I already ordered a Clark Crystal.
