Timepiece Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 This timepiece is actually an order for my father in law. I told him never to buy a rep on holiday in Turkey..., but he did and ended up with a Navitimer Seriele Speciale that wasn
andreww Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Very nice! Would be well worth putting a gen strap on that one.
hackR Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Looks great!... I have the white dial version - which is actually off-white/antique white...great wrist presence... mine came with a burgundy rep moo-croc deployment and it's actally a nice one compared to my smaller sized moo-croc breit rep straps...you can also mount soft 24mm straps on it - so with the galaxy of 24mm PAM straps out there, the skys the limit... The lack of AR is a bummer - but mine will be going in soon for it...another reason I went for the white dial was because the lack of AR is less noticeable with white dials than black... You FIL will enjoy it!... R-
trailboss Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Nice. Allways prefered these to the date at 5 for obvious reasons. The black dial is the way to go as well altho for dressy wear I could be tempted into a white one. This is definiatly worth a better strap IMO. Croc with a gen deployent maybe? Col.
Timepiece Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 Thanks for the compliments! Any suggestions where to score: - a gen strap? - a gen deployant? - trusted(!) AR treatment?
andreww Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Gen straps can be bought at most ADs. Your deployant buckle will work fine, the gen is very expensive. Croc is pricey as well so you may want to consider leather.
Toadtorrent Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 I would consider getting a real croc Breitling style strap from The Watch Boys. Very reasonably priced, well built and will fit the deployment. The Gen deployment and croc strap from an AD cost around $600 - $700 CDN if memory serves me..which is why they'll gladly order you one even without the watch in hand. AR from Chieftang...no other option worth considering...better than OEM.
krpster Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Looks good. Nice shots. Love the Navi's. Hope your Dad likes it. Cheers
Pugwash Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 A BOB strap would do. http://www.waccex.de/catalog/index.php?cPath=149
Steve52 Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Very nice. I'm sure your dad will love it. If he doesn't, PM me and I'll take it off your hands!
chronoluvvv Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 as nice as it is - being that its a black dial, i think it'd look better on a black strap
caracarnj Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Daring move bro, consider the known flaws for a Navi rep. Nonetheless still a worthy watch. Wear it well!
Timepiece Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 A BOB strap would do. http://www.waccex.de/catalog/index.php?cPath=149 Unfortunately BOB does not have any 24/20 straps suitable for a Breitling deployant.
RWG Technical Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 Great comparison and write up, good photo's as well, well done. Thanks for posting this.
Wayward Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 Love it in black...have to agree on the black strap option too!
