BROM
I notice that the marker lines at 5,10,15,20,25, and so on seem more defined on the watch on the left
JoJo35
Sorry B, you need to do some work to that WM9, almost everyone spotted it as an easy fake The one on the left is a very nice older sub, he should be proud to wear it

vlydog
This thread reminds me of why I like to mod Panerai's Rolex's are too much work So after a gen insert, gen crystal, crown, tube and TW's best bracelet; what's next? Bezel assembly? What can be done without buying additional gen parts?

HauteHippie
Is my gap really that bad? The first thing my eyes were drawn to on the WM9 were the bulky CGs and the honkin crown... they were a quick give away. I'd say the CGs need modding on the outer surfaces to get them right. ShawnBeever
Why bother to spend more, this just demonstrates that even the very best rep is only similar to the gen and won’t fool people who know what they are looking when viewed side by side. But I’m sure your watch would fool 100% of the people you meet every day as it is now or weather you mod it further.

vlydog
OK, the CG are a good call; thank you B. but the crown is gen. Does anyone have a good clear profile picture of a gen 16610 that shows the crown and CG? Thanks
HauteHippie
OK, the CG are a good call; thank you B. but the crown is gen. You sure about the crown - I mean did it come in sealed Rolex packaging? It looks big in that pic. Or it could be the CGs are a little short. Hard to tell. But something looks off there. Maybe it's me!
HauteHippie
Some ebay pics... (BTW it looks like the WM9 date mag is slightly weak also - but next you'll tell me it's a gen crystal )

P4GTR
OK, the CG are a good call; thank you B. but the crown is gen. See? Even we go back and forth. Ask yourself why you really care? The 1% of the general public that are interested usually notice one of two things. The hand sweeps, which is a good thing, and/or the bracelet feels flimsy, which is (in their mind) a giveaway. People simply dont know. Those that do, are people like us, and we aren't going to be fooled. Are we at a certain point then trying to fool ourselves? I've got a ETA classic (wok) sub. My first rep. Its unmodded, and I love it. its made me want a gen very much. What we consider crap, most would be shocked to believe is a rep.

Pugwash
For instance (for fun) let's see how many can tell me what's wrong with this watch: I can. It's got gold parts. Oh, you didn't mean aesthetically wrong?

Pugwash
Hah hah. Too funny. I don't like insulting people's watches, apart from in two circumstances: 1 - It's funny. 2 - It's a Hublot.
