suzuki Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 (edited) I want to purchase a Breitling Superocean Steelfish rep, but there are two versions of SOSF exist on this market, one is the second hand with square mark (the older one) ., the other one is the second hand with arrow (the newer one), want to know which one is more accurate to gen? and how many verison has been released for each one? If I have to choose one, Which one is better? Edited November 27, 2009 by suzuki
krpster Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 Hello Suzuki and welcome to RWG. Both types are accurate to the gen. Breitling has used both designs over the years. Unfortunately I cannot remember when they changed from one to the other. Next step is to source your SOSF. Check the dealers listed here and you won't go wrong. Cheers
Agrippa Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 Breitling changed the SOSF from box to arrow in 2008/9. The -08 catalogue shows the seconds hand with a box, while -09 shows an arrow. Both are equally accurate in other words.
fakemaster Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 But all the gen owners only have the newest one. So if you have a box hand they'll know it's a rep. (lol I just know someone somewhere is thinking that)
andreww Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 Crown doesn't look right on the newer version
geestyleed Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 Crown doesn't look right on the newer version And the DW
lanikai Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 I like the box second hand .. but the beveled CG on the newer model is way cool.. AC/L
suzuki Posted November 30, 2009 Author Report Posted November 30, 2009 Thank you!! very useful informating! I'll check trust dealer here and get one! Another question is how many verison has been released for each one? I mean like the DW or Dial... , any detail change?
Bike Mike Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Breitling changed the SOSF from box to arrow in 2008/9. The -08 catalogue shows the seconds hand with a box, while -09 shows an arrow. Both are equally accurate in other words. Actually this change was done at the end of 2007 moving into 2008. The 2008 catalog pic was taken before this update, however I believe it was reflected in the 2008 Runway addition catalog.
