Date jumps while screwing crown in...

Hy there,

i need some help with my Breitling Superocean Heritage.

It has Asian ETA 2824 movement inside.

After adjusting date and time i want to screw in the crown. While doing this, the date changes as long as i screw in the crown (means 4 or 5 times) until it is screwed in completely.

While screwing, it makes a slightly metallically noise (like from a little spring).

Does anybody know something about this issue and how to fix?

Thanks and kind regards!!!

Andy

It could also be that the stem/crown was not inserted properly. When you pull the crown to time set position, can you feel the stem moving out 1 or 2 stops?

If you push the crown in all the way without screwing it in, can you feel it wind the movement or does it only do the date set?

Its curious.....it is very hard to find the position to set the date. Most time i have to take the stem out and have to push it hard in and then i can find the 1st position for setting date. Or sometimes i have to screw the crown comletely in and then screw it out and then i can find the 1st position...

My understanding is that this is common on the SOH with clone 2824. I have one and it does the same thing. The workaround is to pull the crown out to time set position after setting the date and then pushing the crown in to tighten it to the case. I can't explain why this works but it does. I have even taken apart my SOH and checked the stem and keyless works and all looks good. I gave up trying to fix it and just do the procedure as mentioned above.

Cheers

I think it is a short stem. this is an easy fix.... save money...who knows the future...

Irritating problem such things

I agree with Francisco

besides considering the price he offers you it would be quite ironic if the watchsmith actually is offering to put in another asian 2824 unknowingly into your watch :animal_rooster:
