narikaa Posted February 12, 2010 Report Share Posted February 12, 2010 Superglue...you stand a big risk of 'clouding' inside the crystal with the vapours (do pay more attention when watching C.S.I. ) Personally, for convenience , safety, & ease of use (with its inbuilt hypo needle applicator) the smallest amount of GS Hypo Cement . TeeJay Posted February 12, 2010 Report Share Posted February 12, 2010 I've used superglue several times in dial repairs/modifications, and as long as you let the glue cure with the dial de-cased, you won't have an issue with the fumes fogging the crystal (which will happen if the glue isn't cured and the dial is re-cased) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

TeeJay Posted February 15, 2010 Report Share Posted February 15, 2010 If you do use superglue, don't try and do it direct from the tube, or the drop will flood the dial area. Put a bit of tape on your work-surface, put a drop of glue on the tape, then use a toothpick to apply a tiny amount to the back of the dial marker (maybe hold the marker with tweezers or a rodico-tipped pencil for the application of the glue and the positioning). Best of luck It's a pretty easy fix to do, I'm still kicking myself that a few years back, I paid a watchsmith to do a similar thing when the lume came loose from the setting on my 16610 Sub We live and learn Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
