Bobbywaingro Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) Lately i´ve found myself watching wrists when watching movies or my favorite tv-shows (sometimes missing the plot altogether) So as the topic suggests, do you have a favorite celebrity our character in a movie or tv-show who really wears his (or hers) watch well? James Bond and Steve Mcqueen must be the first moviestars that is so linked to "their" pieces, but are there others that has the power of making such a profound link to a watch in this day, or is productplacement such a heavy influance on the entertainment industry so it just "here today, gone tomorrow"? What do you think Edited April 28, 2010 by Bobbywaingro
maxman Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 The only thing that comes to mind for me Is James Bond, Rolex and Omega. Oh yea. I remember one scene where Roger More uses the bezel as a power saw to cut the ropes holding his hands, I think thats the way It went down Pulp Fiction when Christopher Walken keeps that watch up his ass for all those years, so he could give It to that kid. Talk about dysentery Not a pretty picture
chronoluvvv Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) don't care as much for movies as much as I do for sportsmen/women here's James Toseland and here's Chuck Liddell Edited April 28, 2010 by chronoluvvv
southcoast68 Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 If anyone in the US watches NCIS (the original one), they will notice agent Gibbs wearing an Omega PloProf on a orange rubber band (really hard to miss in certain shots).
Jkay Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Joel from "The Soup" on E! network wears a Fiddy. The main character in "The Transporter" movie series is always wearing Panerai.
TeeJay Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 If anyone in the US watches NCIS (the original one), they will notice agent Gibbs wearing an Omega PloProf on a orange rubber band (really hard to miss in certain shots). NCIS is a good one for watches... DiNozzo has worn a Rolex Sub, a Pumpkin Planet Ocean, and some kind of Yacht-Master-esque watch. Gibbs has also worn the Pumpkin PO, and I'm sure that following his book sales, McGee wore a TT Daytona
vafarmer70 Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Alton Brown on the Food Network is always sporting something great on his wrist.
Utheman Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 If anyone in the US watches NCIS (the original one), they will notice agent Gibbs wearing an Omega PloProf on a orange rubber band (really hard to miss in certain shots). I saw an episode of NCIS last week (re-run on USA network) and Gibbs was wearing an Orange bezeled PO - I think. Later on in the episode the watch was on Agent Denozo's wrist.
BlackKnight Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Leonardo Dicaprio's character in Blood Diamond wears a Breitling Chrono Avenger Ti on a walnut strap. Been trying to source one but seems they are too old now.

lhooq Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 As far as specific watches being associated with individuals, I'd wager that a good chunk of Chase-Durers were sold because of Michael Westen! The soon-to-be-put-out-of-its-misery '24' has been Doxa central for several seasons, but I don't think the brand has really made the most of its ties to Jack Bauer.
Jkay Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Alton Brown on the Food Network is always sporting something great on his wrist. Agreed. I always freeze-frame his wristies to identify his watch.
Flippster Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) Nate Archibald on Gossip Girl wears an IWC BP and he pulls it of perfectly. Chuck Bass once had a Piaget, but lately I have not seen anything on his wrist. Edited April 29, 2010 by Flippster

vlydog Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 2012 (2009) Character: Jackson Curtis Actor: John Cusack Watch: IWC Mark XVI
fakemaster Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Is that a PS? That orange strap looks stuupid.
vafarmer70 Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Agreed. I always freeze-frame his wristies to identify his watch. Hahaha, my wife thinks I am nuts to do that. I am so very happy to hear I am not alone in this.
metaljesus Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Ari Gold in Entourge wears a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore. Entourage is a hell fun show for watch spotting. Extremely distracting
southcoast68 Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 I saw an episode of NCIS last week (re-run on USA network) and Gibbs was wearing an Orange bezeled PO - I think. Later on in the episode the watch was on Agent Denozo's wrist. FYI- Just this morning, Michael Weatherly was on the CBS morning news (plays DiZozo on NCIS), and he was in fact wearing a pumpkin Planet Ocean. So I figure what we see, at least on that show, are the actors' personal watches and are probably all gen and not just props. Cheers
jcrry2 Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Bobby Flay on food network always has on a nice watch (rolex,IWC, or panerai) And Glen Beck wore a pam all last week
vafarmer70 Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Bobby Flay does have some nice watches as well. The good thing about the food network, is you generally get to see them cooking with their hands, so you really get lots of watches up close and personal.
