Tribal Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Hi Randy my friend, looks good to me... I saw an other mod for flat 3 but it was hard to do.... Hope to see more... RG tribal
ubiquitous Posted September 15, 2006 Author Report Posted September 15, 2006 It's a prototype piece to check overall fit and function. Fine details are being addressed, pressed, smoothed and ironed out, but I can assure the following: -Flat Top 3's -Closed '6' on the 26 -Large, Bold font -Date rotation in the correct direction And there's even more in store beyond that. Finally... The vintage freaks will have the correct date font for our 1680's/1665's/1675's/1655's...
Guest avitt Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Fantastic! I was just looking for a reason to go back inside the 'dwella...
turkey Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Great news! I can't wait to hear what else is in store.
linkukbora Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 That's indeed a dream came true.......kudos for getting it done Simply flawless and can't wait to see more
Linder Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 We should all just automatically send Ubi part of our paychecks and every once in a while he can mail us something
ubiquitous Posted September 15, 2006 Author Report Posted September 15, 2006 And here is what the project is based off of... As promised... There is more to come. This is just a tiny taste for now...
Bazz Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Great stuff Ubi Been dying to see how they come out!
relaxman Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 My prayers may soon be answered :l3v:
ubiquitous Posted September 16, 2006 Author Report Posted September 16, 2006 Remember guys... It's just the prototype It looks a bit rough now... But we're working on that! BTW- I cannot take the credit for the hard work on these... I'm merely just showing what's in the works
Watchmeister Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Ahh, I think I detect the first of many limited edition projects from the infamous Watchmeister group
triplehd Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 As promised... There is more to come. This is just a tiny taste for now... Oh you little tease ! Great Ubi ! Hoperfully you will work your magic for the 16610s?
relaxman Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Oh you little tease No doubt! I use to have a girlfriend just like Ubi. Come to think of it we all have.
truzement Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 its a nice idea but it looks as if it is printed with an inktjet printer
kingkitesurf Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 I am in! Ubi another amazing upgrade...
Watchmeister Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Inkjet? Look again. That is 1:1 of a gen datewheel. Ever tried to get a gen datewheel? Ubi might give up his...for 800 euros.
ubiquitous Posted September 16, 2006 Author Report Posted September 16, 2006 I can assure you... It is not inkjet The printing is a bit rough... But we are working on this
Pugwash Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 I can assure you... It is not inkjet The printing is a bit rough... But we are working on this That's just dot-gain and bleed. Nothing that can't be dialled out. Nice work.
archibald Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 That's just dot-gain and bleed. Nothing that can't be dialled out. Nice work. There's a bit of that in this version, and also the fact that this wheel was printed in the late 50's using late 50's technology. Every number on the wheel is different, and each is flawed by todays printing standard. The task before us is a balance between preserving as many of Rolex's "flaws" while eliminating the flaws caused by our technology....which is not easy because sometimes getting rid of one gets rid of the other. Any input you might have, pugwash, would be greatly appreciated...and (modestly as per our means) rewarded. As we move along it's becoming clear that we're having to work more than a few numbers by hand, so patience is a must, guys.
HauteHippie Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Oh you little tease ! Great Ubi ! Hoperfully you will work your magic for the 16610s? Aren't there are already accurate date wheels for the 16610 such as on the TWG sub. Or am I missing something?
ubiquitous Posted September 16, 2006 Author Report Posted September 16, 2006 Ahhhh... For the 16610, there are. But for vintage jobs, like the 1680, 1665, etc, there are not...
ubiquitous Posted September 16, 2006 Author Report Posted September 16, 2006 A couple of examples of genuine
