This one should be pretty easy for someone to answer. What color date wheel should a GWSD 1665 have? I have seen some that look white but it is hard to tell in pictures. Thanks in advance!!!

The earliest versions were silver, later were white & white is what Rolex fits during service. So either is correct

Thanks guys!!! Do you know when they went to white? The dial I am possibly looking at is the rail dial off of eBay and was wondering what color would be accurate. Thanks!!!!

Either should be fine. I am looking at building something similar that will be circa late 1970's (5.8mil serial). I have a nice white datewheel that I will most likely stick with. If it were a 'Red' I would be a little more purist. I want to say after 77/78 you are safe.

Yes it is, and I have a correct case back for the late 70's.
