Sprocket
Wow! Thanks for all the welcomes! When I'm home, I'm usually found meandering about the Portland/Vancouver area. Sounds like I have neighbors here. That's kinda fun! I have one of those jobs that sends me traveling about the country, which is sort of how I got into this hobby in the first place. Found myself in NY City early this year and wandered down Canal Street on the way to Little Italy. The reps found there were laughable but it started me thinking there MUST be something better. Purchased my first rep (a Breitling B01) in Times Square. It's not accurate... Two of the sub dials are not numbered even remotely correctly, but it looked cool, the AR is great, and I thought it would make a good beater watch. I started surfing the web looking for better and found you lot. What a wonderful community it is! Good people and great information. I've always had a passion for watches but once you own a gen... what then? It's beautiful and functions as it should but that's it. Through RWG I've discovered it doesn't stop at wearing it, staring at it, and rubbing it with a soft polishing cloth. Frankens and mods and getting to tweak the movements or swap them out entirely?! HAH! I purchased a Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16, a UPO, and I have a beautiful A Lange & Sohne on the way with three more sitting in the checkout bin with Joshua; decisions decisions... Thanks to lanikai, I now have the source for gen parts to mod my UPO. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but my watch obsession just found fuel and a completely new direction. I would never touch a gen watch but being able to modify a rep and make it my own is fantastic! Just found a source for green bezel inserts for Omega Seamasters, including the UPO (source: omega bezel search on ebay. Black, orange, green, and blue). Okay, sure it's fantasy for a UPO but so what? I think it would look cool and I don't try to pass these off as gen anyway. So, I'm planning on a future UPO with green accents. So many watches... So little time. Thank you again for all of your welcomes! I am looking forward to becoming a part of your community here!

Seraphim38
hello as well, from another neighbor I am relatively new to the board as well. I had a Daytona rep that died recently so I decided to look into the community to find out what's out there. My wife is already irritated at me for how much time I spend reading the board.... Hello from the Woodinville area...
Nanuq
Hello Woodinville! My ex boss lived there, played a mean fretless Fender bass and Ampeg combo. Small world!
