craigb
hello to all. i'm currently looking into buying a gen sub. but would like to know what to look out for to stop myself getting burned. i know the basics like the cg's, insert. but not sure about the rest. like how smooth the bezel should move, dial's. any comments would be a great help. thanks craig

panerai153
Be very careful with ebay. Lots and lots of replicas being sold as genuine. Take Fxandy's advice. Also look at the watches for sale on Time Zone Sales Corner,WatchUSeek Private sales forum, Watchnet,The Rolex Forum. These forums always have Subs for sale. All of these forums are closely patrolled, and a fake won't last 10 minutes before someone reports it. Of course with the vintage sales forum, sometimes they over scrutinize and someone will call something fake when it really isn't. That shouldn't be a problem with a contemporary Sub. Also If it's a reasonably new watch it should have all the paperwork, boxes, etc. the punched paper with the watch serial number punched can be faked, but it's more difficult. Papers will add to the value and help you later if you decide that you want to move it along for something else.
