Help: UPO waterproofing (sealing crown?)

Hi Guys,

I'm going to waterproof my UPO whilst I have it decased. I know how to seal the following:

1) epoxy the HEV value

2) glue sapphire crystal

3) silicon grease the caseback o-ring

How does one go about sealing the Crown? there doesn't seem to be a gasket in the crown-tube and there's nothing inside the crown. Do I just apply some silicon grease on the threading and let friction do its thing?

I'd appreciate the advice from people that have waterproof their watches.

thx

Most PO have 1 seal in the crown and 1 in the tube. You can clearly see the rubber o-ring. If you can't see them they ain't there . You don't glue the crystal but solely use the tension ring. Know that not the grease makes a watch water proof but the margins and tolerances of the different parts fitted together. Better have it checked for leaks before letting it come in contact with water.

got the Gen tension rings' from cousinsuk. *pic attached so you get a better understanding of the product. Its pretty rigid.

crystal is pressed down and the ring will keep it in place and keep moisture out.

I tried glue and it doesn't work. May aswell do it properly!!
