Guest Sql_pl Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Ruby posted than new Cartier for sale. It is fitted with an ETA movement... looks to be quite nice. The problem is I cannot find too many gen pics... maybe you know where to find some more gen scans? Here is the rep: This watch is quite cool... and different frm all other watches... Cheers!
lovepanerai Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 looks very nice, however the dial/rubber combination is supposed to be black and not white - here are some pictures as you can see the cabochon (not sure if this is spelled correctly) is supposed to be blue and there is no black rubber ring around the bezel on the white faced model
Rolexman Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 (edited) Silixprime sells them as well! Edited September 21, 2006 by Rolexman
Guest Sql_pl Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 (edited) EDIT: Nevermind. Edited September 21, 2006 by Sql_pl
everlast Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 white dial ss/rubber band - fantasy , black dial have white data wheel ...
Watchwatcher Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 (edited) the first rep i picked up a few years ago was a pasha convex grid (eta) and i still love the looks of it... a cross between giorgio armani and arnold schwartzenegger. there are very few reps of the 'convex' grid which is the man's version of the watch--most have a flat grid like the smaller women's version. the seatimer seems to be an attempt to update the image of the watch and perhaps give it a more masculine look. archibald Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 A dealer might switch the strap/buckle--or better, the dial-- for you, or maybe you can go w/ an aftermarket strap if the buckle is the same...at worst, sourcing a date wheel for the 2824's and 36's (one of which i assume is inside) shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as you are not too picky about the font. I also wonder if some flat black paint mght do the job on the "rubber" ring... Otherwise, it's a pretty accurate rep for the dough--this one is on the Things to Make Arch Broke list
SubFrog Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I bought my fiancee the Pasha SS white dial...it's all she wears. But damn...that black dial is bad ass!
Goochenbrau Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I dont llike the Pasha Seatimer... they look too femine
tonton2000 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 How easy would it be to get a good black datewheel for this? i think the movt's an eta 2836. silix has the black dial version, but it has a white datewheel
Watchmeister Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Not my cup of tea. I bought the gen and gave it to my wife. She does love it though. Although as we speak she is running around wearing my Ziggified 24A. I don't think she has any idea that it is a rep.
tonton2000 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 I quite like the rubberised black version. Its bigger than the mens pasha's (38mm vs 40mm)
Richard Tracy Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Wow,... This I Like ! Don't usually go for Cartier, but this one has a real masculine look that I could sport...
Chronus Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I like this one Now just a black datewheel... I also like the Cartier Roadster. These Cartiers have a different look and I like it.
robertk Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 I like it too. Just needs that famous black date wheel. Why do they continue to screw up the date wheels?
JosePR Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 im going for it, plus im buying the datewheel for $25, makes it a very convincing rep
KB Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 Except of course the wrong font on the markers Ken
Chronus Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 tonton: how is the rubber / metal bracelet, and how is the black rubber bezel part? Looks very nice
tonton2000 Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 tonton: how is the rubber / metal bracelet, and how is the black rubber bezel part? Looks very nice It is honestly as good as i imagine the gen to be, no exaggeration! From seeing the gen (not handling it) it looks dead on. Also, the marker font is not nociably different as far as i can see.
Chronus Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 I think kenberg meant the 6, 9 and 12. They don't curl in as close as the real thing, and the one has the serif slightly different. I don't think it would be immediately noticeable to many, and not many will even know what this is! The black datewheel is something else, but it still looks nice with a white datewheel.
tonton2000 Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 Yeah i can see it now, good spot kenberg! I dont think you'd notice it if you werent looking for it. The black datewheel is the most obvious flaw, but can be partially corrected with a new datewheel. All in all, for the price, its a great watch, and this coming from the most anally retentive of people (mE!)
Chronus Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 I agree, not much you will spot on this being wrong apart from maybe the datewheel.
sssurfer Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 Personally I find this watch silly, something like going scuba diving with a smoking suit.
tonton2000 Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 I think its more of a facelift for a model that has lost its popularity in the smart/sports watch bracket. Granted, few people will actually go diving with it on though
