redwatch Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Wow!!! That spider dial is just gorgeous! How on earth did you do that and make it look so great???
freddy333 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Looks good, but I would have the dial relumed so the lume does not reflect light (some 50s Rolex dials did have a glossy finish, but the radium or tritium, which was applied after/on top of the dial finish, should not)
redwatch Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 @ Freddy - who did the lume on your 6542 dials?
freddy333 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 @ Freddy - who did the lume on your 6542 dials? PM sent.
forrestal Posted August 6, 2010 Author Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Wow!!! That spider dial is just gorgeous! How on earth did you do that and make it look so great??? Thanks friend, to get that aged look you have to spray the dial with glossy transparent paint and put it in the oven for a few minutes... Edited August 6, 2010 by forrestal
panerai153 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Beautiful watch and a great, great modding job. Incidently, if you or anyone is interested in a truly nice james bond strap which has the correct buckle as well as the cloth keeper, look up a Watch U Seek forum member "aliasrichmond" he sells the straps in 18,20 and 22mm sizes.Go here to see photos
