theblueprince
There's one in NYC on Ebay too.......in fact i think it's the same one looking at the pics. They don't seem to be selling for a premium, which is nice. List is £2690 in the UK. I have one on order but after seeing the movement/case pics with the caseback off (which isn't pretty), and of course all the discussion about the DD module itself I'm not sure if I want it anymore. Wuh. Edited August 10, 2010 by TheBluePrince

theblueprince
Someone posted pics with the back off in a forum. Movement looks tiny in the case, doesn't look solid or high quality, stem looks very thin and spindly etc. Looks made to a price very obviously. The DD (Dubois/Depraz) module is what sits on the standard ETA 2893 movement and provies the chrono functions. Search the web for never ending discussion on it vis a vis reliabilty, servicability etc. Basically 99% of watchsmiths won't touch it if it breaks and will just replace the whole module ($$$). Basically you'd be [censored] to have one break out of warranty (after 2 years, or if you bought it out of warranty) and then send it to Rolex who proceed to charge you for a new chrono module or even new movement. All speculation right now of course but it's basically the same movement and module as many other manufacturers use.
lhooq
The movement is a big turn-off, but with looks like that I'm tempted to be shallow! Patience will pay off, though: The post-release spike in demand didn't materialize, and the early-birds on eBay have been steadily dropping their selling prices. Ubi's superduper franken 7032 is making a lot of sense, in hindsight...
dbutlerman
That is a good looking watch! A true modern classic.

Migge
where's the rep!!!! + 1 LOL If memory serves me correct the gen is quite thick despite having the 2892 + DD movement, so a decent rep would be possible to make.
theblueprince
I guess the problem with the rep would be the secs@3.......meaning a 7750 with an upper module like the Daytona, ROO, Porto etc.
Gorilladame
As I got one I can say it might look cheap with the caseback of, but the rest looks fantastic. It feels like a really expensive watch in every way. If you have the chance, then go for one...
