fitipaldi
Hi, I just was checking Andrew's website and I found this amazing surprise: the new Omega Seamaster 300 Chrono with some upgrades. The most important to me it's the Omega logo in the dial. Take a look: black, http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_66&products_id=6697 Blue, http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_66&products_id=6696
By-Tor
How can you see the Omega logo on the dial? The hour hand was over it in all those pictures.
P4GTR
I was checking it out earlier, and it looks pretty good. They've got the insert lined up properly w/ the bezel in the pictures. The hour hand looks like it could be a little short, but it could be the pictures. Can't quite make out if they have pins or screws in the bracelet. By-Tor
Does the new model have different Omega logo? The old gen had "happy feet".
Jkay
I can definitely see a happy foot sticking out in one of the black dial photos
fitipaldi
Bytor, sorry when I wrote logo I would mean the Omega letters: previous 2008 version: new 2008 updated version: http://www.1-pc8838.com/000omse00112-300m-2008-chrono-black-a7750-updated-pi-9107.html?image=1 gen: Edited August 24, 2010 by fitipaldi
mastrmindalliance
I'm interested in this, but wondering what are the thoughts (based on pics) from the Omega pro's?
By-Tor
The old version is more accurate and nicer, no matter what improvements they have made. There must be a lot of them around. Just watch the member sales, they pop up every now and then.
ianGP
wow, it even has the anti-counterfeit logo on the caseback!
swdivad
what's an anti-counterfeit insignia?

swdivad
OK thanks... but how does that make it anti-counterfeit?

I sense some favorism of your old beloved Seamaster Chrono in the above statement... Or maybe an ETA non-chrono SMP instead.
Fireman_Fred
Does anyone know if the new versions suffer the same problem as the old one - ie the crown/stem thread becoming stripped?

I sense some favorism of your old beloved Seamaster Chrono in the above statement... Or maybe an ETA non-chrono SMP instead. There is no favorism. It's a fact. The old dial is pretty much flawless. No logo issue, no OMEGA text issue, etc. I have only 4 reps left. That's exactly the reason why I have gotten rid of at least 80 reps during the years and kept the old SMP Chrono... I have only kept best of the best.
redwatch
Watch-International just posted this one here I'm definitely no Omega expert, but they look pretty decent. As always, it's a little hard to judge colors, etc. with the poorly lit pictures, but I think they look pretty good. Here's another shot of the Gen in black:
TeeJay
Silly quick question, and totally OT, but would the SMP chrono use the same movement as a Tudor Chrono?
redwatch
This one uses an A7750 movement. What does the Tudor Chrono use?

babola
I really don't care much about the logo and/or Omega text correctness. For me the bigger eyesore are the small chrono register hands, they're too short and have larger diameter at the base on this rep. The gen 2008 SMP300 comes with larger subdials and longer subdial hands to compensate for the fact. It appears the rep maker used the older short-style SMP300 hands on this model. For me, this is a no-go unless they fix the hands, or I manage to source the gen ones. Oh and that bezel pearl, sadly, they just can't get that one right
kuli
Ok the bezel pearl puts me off. Its an obvious tell, I can still live with the slightly shorter dial hands. Looks like I will be skipping this one. Edited August 27, 2010 by kuli
