milesd Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Just some quick iPhone shots: (there is no AR, but the sky was BLUE today ) And some close ups (just some quick snaps): And I got the lightbox out:
sander Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Yep, it's great looking. Can you show me a pic of the buckle. I orderd the D model and I'm not sure if I have to get a gen buckle for it. Thanks!
milesd Posted August 28, 2010 Author Report Posted August 28, 2010 I took some more pictures and update the original post.
sander Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 thanks for the extra pics. I'm a little concerned about the cyclops. Like someone else wrote before, it's placed too far to the left and it's 7 instead of 6mm. So it seems that the crystals are leftovers from other than 7750 movements I've heard that the crystal of the ultimate 199 does fit. 6mm cyclops and placed at the right spot! This would be nice because I have one
cskent69 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Great pics. I am going to get one but not till dsn fixes that crystal or a more easy solution presents itself. Congats on your new purchase.
zhoon1129 Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 wait a min.. it's not gen and dsn's???
milesd Posted August 31, 2010 Author Report Posted August 31, 2010 Yep, 100% DSN. I've order a T48SL crown and a 2geek datewheel. Also, a 6mm cyclops crystal is getting swapped in from a 199.
sul Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Nice watch indeed For me biggest flaw and immediate give away is still 7750 movement cannon pin. DSN old 7750 movement models had a not very well cut-polished cannon pin. Now it has a much better cut and it is glossy but too tall/long. If cannon pin will be short as needed, I will be 100% buyer, but today no PAM with 7750 movement for me unfortunately. Strange, I don`t care that case lug´s shape is not correct, I don´t care about crystal or cyclops size, don`t care about CG or date wheel, but cannon pin...it disturb me a lot

siesta181 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Nice watch... the cannon pin does protrude a fair bit now doesn't it? You guys reckon its possible to flatten, sand down and high polish the cannon pin or will that just damage the cannon pin? Me and some mates are about to pull the trigger on DSN's updated 25A. SO any opinions will be appreciated.

If you sand and polish it, it will be yellow. besides that, what you see in the pic is a little cap which closes the hole of the standard cannon pin. when you remove this cap, the height of the pinion is correct but then you will end up with a hole in the middle. I removed the cap and shortened the pinion. I made a new stainless steel cap which is lower than the original cap. Voila!
sander Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 for the people who don't know what we are talking about.....
siesta181 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Man.... That mod seems to be a lot of work.
Dani Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Man.... That mod seems to be a lot of work. but worth it, now that i see the flaw it would bother me a lot..
siesta181 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 @Sander, any change you'll be producing these caps for the masses?

Thanks sander, that is a interesting idea, I will try it probably also in future. But please add pictures when you install new correct pinion on your watch. How does it look? milesd: sorry- we don`t want to spoil your new watch topic. Maybe is better to do new topic- DIY- normal size cannon pinon for 7750 movement PAM?
milesd Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 I don't mind, this is good info and if it can be done, I'd like to know about it
denisegold Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Milesd-what type of crown did you order? Looking at Swiss version so was wondering what length of crown to order. Thanks
coolfire Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Man.... That mod seems to be a lot of work. Well, the 3 of us could do with some of your persuasion powers to you-know-who.
milesd Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 Milesd-what type of crown did you order? Looking at Swiss version so was wondering what length of crown to order. Thanks I ordered a T48SL .9mm. However if you get the swiss, you can't get the spring loaded crown because the swiss movement (I THINK) has a 1.2mm thread stem and currently T doesn't make crowns that fit.
denisegold Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Thanks! T does have the crown to fit the Swiss version as I emailed him. I ordered the 024d as I can source a gen dial. Yours looks great!!
