Nanuq Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Nice! But I cannot help noticing the BP is running fast compared to the 5514. Simply unforgivable! I don't know how you can bear it. Please send it to me (either one) and I'll eliminate the concerns for you.
ubiquitous Posted September 22, 2010 Author Report Posted September 22, 2010 I see you didn't notice how slow the Omega's running, eh?
Nanuq Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Omega? Was there an Omega in the picture?
lhooq Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Ah, the Holy Trinity! All you need is a Super Compressor to make a Divers' Fab Four!
ubiquitous Posted September 22, 2010 Author Report Posted September 22, 2010 I wish there were a sterile, hommage no-date compressor on the market! I'd love to build one... If it existed...
lhooq Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Speaking of fake Blancpains, there's a listing for a Fifty Fathoms (#140455836081) that bears an uncanny resemblance to the Precista PRS-50. If that isn't sufficiently suspicious, there's also the infamous "MW7705" caseback engraving, which is akin to the "A/254/67" commonly found on fake RN Seamasters. Interesting story in the description, though, about why everything looks so new!
ubiquitous Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 LOL... That guy's got an answer for everything!
ubiquitous Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 Well, I had a chance to exchange some emails with the owner previous to the one I purchased this Fifty Fathoms from; rather interesting story actually. The watch was discovered 3 years ago at a vendor that sells vintage gens of all things. So, no real lead or clues on where the watch originated, but still rather odd
chiman12 Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 It is a cool vintage piece none the less...
HauteHippie Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Neat piece. Definitely on the small side, but it still looks at home on your wrist. Love the mesh bracelet of course, too.
valerian Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Fantastic pieces, Ubi. I really like the FF very much. Does not look small on you at all and should complement Mrs. Ubi very much. Kind regards Val.
FxrAndy Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 That is nice and small Ubi, very 60s/70s.
