Authentic PAM Rubber and Deployant

show a shot of the underside of the clasp. You should have some engraving there.

And do you have a rep PAM rubber? If you do you can tell immediately. The rep is very stiff and the OEM malleable. Colorwise they are very close.

When you say underside of the clasp what do you mean? I have a picture of the bottom side of the clasp and it is engraved PRMG.

The rubber is very nice flexible and soft

pic of the underside of this part. Some models come with engraving under it.

If the rubber is soft that's probably a gen. There are other rep straps that are soft but the look/color are off. Compare with a rep.

What happens some time is for folks to sell an OEM strap with a rep buckle.

The OEM rubber runs for $100 and the buckle for $300-350. If you've paid less than $200 for the set that's probably a rep buckle.

Sorry mate, doesn't look good. The level of finish in general and rough engraving is only some of the tells.

The text embossing on rubber underside is also off, both by thickness and the shape of the font.

There's been about 5-6 different Pam rep rubber iterations I've come acros during the last 5-6 years. Some were made harder some softer and more pliable.

Sometimes it's really hard to tell rep vs gen rubber strap, the latest one that comes with A7753-Daylights is one example of a great replication almost impossible to tell by the naked eye, but yours is quite off, sorry :(

eBay?

Everything on there is fake mate... Deployants and rubber straps are difficult to tell apart and there's a massive trade on eBay for such items. PAM and Breitling parts are so expensive and their REP counterparts very cheap and of good quality, it makes sense.

Funnily enough, the only relatively safe place to buy GENs is at a place where people know the difference, ie, RWG ;o)
