Seiko Samurai Refresh

As many of you know I am a huge Seiko fan. I presently have two Titanium (Asian market only) Samurai's. My Blue Sammy, was a "go to" watch, for its "do all, go anywhere" capabilities. However, with wearing a watch, comes the occasional ding or scratch. Especially Sekio/Citizen Ti that scratches if you look at it funny.

It was decided, lets give this watch a well deserved refreshing. Using the Omega Titanium Refinishing pad (Ofrei), fiberglass scratch brush (Ofrei), and 1500 grit wet/dry sand paper, the Ti restored to like new.

Also, Seiko uses "Hardlux" crystals in most of their sport watches instead of the tougher more scratch resistant Sapphire. I acquired a Sapphire, slight dome, AR Crystal from Yobokies.

Below are the results.

Before:

Scratched lugs, bracelet and original hardlux crystal

Titanium while it scratches easy, also restores easily!

Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys. I am really digging the Yobokies AR Crystal on this with the slight dome. It really makes this a unique Sammy now. And sapphire gives it a higher quality appearance to boot. In the winder BEFORE, it was just there minding its own business. Now, after the clean up and crystal swap it screams 'check me out'. :)

Can we see a side profile shot with the domed crystal?

As soon as I get some time I will snap a pic or two, unless below will suffice.

The very last picture shows the slight dome nicely. To note: The dome simply rises to the level of the bezel. It does not rise above the bezel (which is actually a good thing IMHO for protection).

Here is a picture of a NON-DOME / ORIGINAL Hardlux crystal. Notice how the crystal is flat and about a mm BELOW the bezel.

(Borrowed photo - not of my watch)

If you can see in this photo, the slight doming. Leveling up to the bezel. (Time permitting I will get a side shot)
