simonporsche Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Just received my new 219 and white cobra strap both today in the post (double whammy). What do you guys think?
maxman Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Im not a big fan of white straps but that cobra looks pretty cool. The more Important question Is....what do you think? I really like the buckle BTW
gianton Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Watch looks great, not big fan of white straps too! Main thing is that you like it enjoy!!!
hiker01 Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 The strap should enhanced the watch......that Cobra does not.........for me anyway. Maybe on a 113 or 207a and other white faced PAMs! But, hey, if you like it, who cares, right?
simonporsche Posted February 1, 2011 Author Report Posted February 1, 2011 It's unanimous then, everyone loves it hahaha. Must admit it's my first panerai and I bought the cobra along with a dark brown croc as a safer bet and it does look better.
tanya Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Where can you get friggen Cobra straps? Thats too bad to the bone
subbiesrock Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 I've got a strap from almost every dead animal, cow, ostrich, croc, cayman, gator, python... Never seen a cobra though... The trend for PAMs seems to be really good quality leather and immaculate, precise stitching work. Some Italian strapmakers are commanding higher prices than OEM for their quality of workmanship. It seems all the collectors eventually gravitate to the understated, high quality designs, which might be reflected in the general trend of responses to your question Having said that... The white cobra does look about 146 different kinds of bad-ass...
ugoderosa Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 The white cobra is overpowering. The watch gets lost in all the shine and detail of the white cobra strap.
redwatch Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Agreed..maybe on a 113 or 03b, but on the 219 it's just odd to me. Beauty PAM though!
StormTooper4 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 It's certainly different and pretty blingy , I don't reckon I could pull something like that off but if you're a young gun out on the town a bet it would get some serious attention
simonporsche Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Where can you get friggen Cobra straps? Thats too bad to the bone Got it from a new strap maker over on RWI called Prime Straps and he goes by the name of Crocodile, heres his links. http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/forumdisplay.php/prime-straps-241.html http://s747.photobucket.com/albums/xx116/PrimeStraps/ He does all types of hide at good prices too and a great guy to deal with.

I think your right although there's some beautiful straps available there seems to be a general theme with them and sometimes its nice to attempt something different.
tanya Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Thanks Simon! Contacted Jeremy last night
hambone Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 The white cobra works for me. Very exotic, and the Panerai is quite the exotic watch. Unique and good looking combo.
hambone Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) Sorry, did not mean to post twice. Damn page took so long to load....grumble grumble Edited February 4, 2011 by hambone
