redwatch Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Well that date mag certainly looks a little off!!
TeeJay Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Hmmmm... Not sure what's going on with that one... One of my favorite watch dials though
Star69 Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 what's wrong with it ? except for the glass being after marked ?
sneed12 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 It has the date window in the ETA position, but I think it's supposed to right? Don't those have an ETA movement in them? It actually looks fine, but with a terribly crooked cyclops from what is probably an aftermarket crystal.
d-rock Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 The datewheel isn't correc and neither is the date mag on the crooked cyclops.
sneed12 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 The date window is in the right place, though. I'm not familiar enough with the Tudor datefonts to know if it's the wrong font or not.
sneed12 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Actually, if it's an ETA movement, shouldn't it have an ETA date disc in it? If so, the font looks fine...
mcotter Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Help me understand " what's the beef"? It looks AOK to me...The pricing for this generation may be tall, but the watch looks as it should.. Regards, mcotter
chefcook Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 As Frank said: Everything looks OK except the crystal being aftermarket.
chiman12 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Tudor's do use ETA, but the date wheel usually should have serif fonts. Difficult to tell due to the aftermarket crystal, but it looks like the date wheel on this 79190 uses san serif fonts. So it may be possible that the the date wheel is not original to the watch.
