Stephane Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Any one got any tips on flights from germany to sweden, i just looked and got one hell of a shock, almost 1K! Same here if travelling by plane! No direct connection either: Bru-Copenhagen-Malmö (train). And guys, if you are based in Stockholm (instead of Malmö maybe), Berlin, Madrid or Barcelona, let us know if you can host the afternoon drinks. In Malmö we have the one and only Modelizer ...but who could help elsewhere? For Malmö from Copenhague, pls check this...http://goscandinavia.about.com/od/gettingfromcitytocity/qt/copenhagenmalmo.htm Edit to add: Andy and others, maybe rent a car at Copenhague Airport is a cheaper solution than the train wich is around 170$ for 2...to be checked if Malmö is the winner
FxrAndy Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 we could alway hire a van and do a road trip
modelizer Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 OK guys, here's some tips on getting to and from Copenhagen: From Germany you have Easyjet flying from Berlin to Copenhagen at a very reasonable price. And from other German cities you can check Norwegian.. Train from Copenhagen to Malmo is €12 one way with departures every 20 mins. I might also be able to borrow a mini bus and drive over there to make a group pick up..
bionic tim Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 There is always Air Berlin aswell if you are travelling from Germany. Sas flies from Brussels every day and if you book now it should not be that expensive :-)
modelizer Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 There is always Air Berlin aswell if you are travelling from Germany. Sas flies from Brussels every day and if you book now it should not be that expensive :-) Very true! Germanwings as well, so there's lots of flight options from Germany to Copenhagen. @Stephane: I did a quick check on Brussels to CPH (11-12/3) and it was €190 return with SAS via edreams.com. Not too shabby!
FxrAndy Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 I think we will let the poll run untill midnight sunday 13 march GMT+1 and then the top of the poll will be the location.
PeteM Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 I do love Copenhagen so I know my choice.....
Stephane Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 @ Modelizer: I fly with Star Alliance for the same rate (Brussels Airline) so that is fine. But, some of us are in nothern EU and some are in southern EU; not everybody have cheap flights to Copenhague and some won't probably want to come. So, as Andy says, let's put an end date to this poll and then we'll take it from there
modelizer Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 +1 Let's see where the poll takes us and take it from there. I'll try to make it regardless location!
plaifender Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 If it's in madrid, I can't exactly host afternoon drinks in my house, but my friends owns a restaurant with a "secret" VIP room upstairs where we would be free to do as we please for the afternoon. Of course, we'd have to pay for drinks but the atmosphere is nice, and we'd have it to ourselves
pabler Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 It seems northern´s are winning southern´s, what a pity! You know Summers in the Mediterranean are just what you need: beautiful girls, beaches, drinks, and prices when you know where to go are just unbeatable!
plaifender Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 can't believe that the mediterranean is losing to the Cold North....
Stephane Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Berlin is leading and Malmö is second... What a race guys
plaifender Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 So no one likes Sun and Tans?? Vote MEDITERRANEAN people!
FxrAndy Posted February 28, 2011 Author Report Posted February 28, 2011 I think to make this fair we have to combine the votes for Madrid and Barcelona and if they win then vote on the location as right now all i have done is split the vote and that way neither realy has a chance of winning. Is that fair with every one?
plaifender Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Seems fair to me I live in Madrid, but could make it to barcelona for the weekend Having 2 cities as options in the same country definitely divides things. Barcelona IS on the mediterranean though
FxrAndy Posted February 28, 2011 Author Report Posted February 28, 2011 There is no way i could come to Spain with out a dip in the sea, wearing a rep and see all your Jaws hit the floor
plaifender Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 There is no way i could come to Spain with out a dip in the sea, wearing a rep and see all your Jaws hit the floor I'll wear my UPO in.. but don't even think about any of my chronos!!!
Stephane Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Good move Andy. Let's be fair thus I assume Barcelona would be the easiest ...if you want to swim!
FxrAndy Posted March 1, 2011 Author Report Posted March 1, 2011 They are going to wake up from siesta if they want to beat berlin though, if we go there i will have to find a fountain to jump into
TeeJay Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 As always, I'll make no promises, but if I can afford it, (ie win the lotto/sell a kidney/etc) I'll try and attend
Stephane Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Berlin is still leading ...Spain is next and then Sweden. So...don't forget to vote guys!
