geo1nah2a Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 The recesses in the LW case are there to attach a multifunction digital add on: altimeter/depth/temperature etc. Really interesting dual personality in these watches. I really love their DLC ones, and the skeletonised version.
pabler Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 I end up poking on this thread time by time, so I suppose this should be the next one.....
subbiesrock Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Wouldn't mind seeing a Linde Werdelin rep as well... They're great looking watches!
ninja Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Has anyone managed to make the 286 water proof by greasing the seals?
senator Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) can someone of the owners tell about the blue hand- & subdial color. Is this genlike?? Thank you folks! Btw., nice pics & great watch! Edited June 24, 2011 by senator
unregistered Posted June 25, 2011 Author Report Posted June 25, 2011 It is close to pretty much spot on for the 286
senator Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 (edited) thanks, ordered rightnow by Angus!! Think, the only mod is the CG right?? Edited June 25, 2011 by senator
unregistered Posted June 25, 2011 Author Report Posted June 25, 2011 Not really. Only mod to me is the crystal. Getting it changed to sapphire.
sempire Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Very, very nice. Prefer it to the 253.... whats the difference?
pabler Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 286 has the fake Rattrapante pusher on the left, plus second chrono seconds hand beneath the "normal" one. Also there is more blue on the chrono subdial at three. The dial is a little bir crisper on 286 and in general terms is more Gen feeling. Just see PeteM´s comparo and you´ll see.

Totally agree.... if you can live with the faux rattrapante pusher/movement.... which I see know reason why anyone cant then on the wrist the 286 looks much more gen like especially in sunlight... as well as above the numerals especially 6 is better plus way inscriptions sit in the waffle shapes (alignment) also the position of LSML... CP stack also looks better IMHO
senator Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 @PeteM: you know an place, where i can buy a good looking crystal for the 286?
plaifender Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 @PeteM: you know an place, where i can buy a good looking crystal for the 286? haha.. that's funny....
senator Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 haha.. that's funny.... why?? he is the pam-guru > गुरु < within!!
unregistered Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 I've donated my crystal to Taka for him to get some made and coated with his AR. It'll be a while but they are definitely coming.
plaifender Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 why?? he is the pam-guru > गुरु < within!! Because if you have been around the last 2 years.. you would know that I had been working on a crystal project for this watch. The project has gone cold. and I DO have a sapphire prototype.. but it is a bit shallow. So far... no acceptable sapphire crystals for these watches
erdeke Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 Any news on the DLC coated PAM286? I would be really interested in buying one if it becomes available trough one of my favorite rep dealers.
unregistered Posted July 11, 2011 Author Report Posted July 11, 2011 Did anyone ever say the dealers were going to be making a DLC/PVD version of the 286? I've said I've sent mine in to be DLCed and that is almost done, its with the vendor now, but it'll take a while before it comes back to me as I have to wait for the saphire crystals to be made as well. proto is done from what I know.
unregistered Posted August 20, 2011 Author Report Posted August 20, 2011 Thought I'd share the progress. The parts are all DLCed just awaiting the sapphire crystal now. Proto done. Pretty decent, though distortion at the edges was off. New proto being made and we'll see soon
PPN Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Excellent pictures. So does the split second feature work on this one?
unregistered Posted August 23, 2011 Author Report Posted August 23, 2011 No. Faux split seconds pusher
PPN Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 No. Faux split seconds pusher So both second hands move together?
