jmb Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 I have finally put the finishing touches on the Prince Date Chrono that Chiman12 was nice enough to sell me a while back! He had done most of the hard work in scrounging the dial and a gen Tudor/ETA 7750 movement, all I had to do was tie up a few loose ends. I finished it up today by engraving the case back and I think from now on I'll just enjoy wearing it! If I was told I had to seriously thin my collection this would be at the top of my list of "keepers". Build Sheet: Gen Tudor/ETA 7750 Movement Gen Prince Date Chrono dial Gen Crown Rep Daytona case Rep Tudor signed Brushed Oyster Bracelet Stock rep crystal rotated 180 degrees with ofrei cyclops Case back engraved Lugs drilled
Guest zeleni kukuruz Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Wooooow, realy no fan of the blue dial, bur waaaaaw man realy nice and congrates!
jmb Posted April 5, 2011 Author Report Posted April 5, 2011 Thanks! Pictures do not do the dial justice, it must be seen in full sunlight to be fully appreciated.
Utheman Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Awesome watch. I think the photos would look much better without a flash.
jmb Posted April 5, 2011 Author Report Posted April 5, 2011 No flash, taken outside with direct sunlight as I was trying to catch the "dial sparkle"...
chiman12 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 dang...your going crazy with that CNC machine aren't you? Looks good J!
jmb Posted April 5, 2011 Author Report Posted April 5, 2011 I'm starting to get the hang of it. I milled the case back on this one instead of using the lathe, have no nubbin in the center, and engraving nicely uniform in depth.
Ray T Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Love this watch, sucks that the one i have is running way out of spec, needs to get sent out for some service soon. Bought a burgundy dial version of this as a gen for $1200 2 years back, it was quite a catch.
creation88 Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Nice job. One more thing you could do is trim the crown guards a bit. TPDC crown guards are much smaller and thinner than Daytona ones.
krpster Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Nice work on the case back J. Looks great. I'd love to see some more macros of it.
