Peter52 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 Hey guys, it's time for a new beater on my wrist and as i went by the local watchstore, i saw some panerais and liked them very much. In fact, i think i want to buy a pam005 or pam104. So the big question: which one? The 005 doesn't have an automatic movement, could this be a problem? Any suggestions? Whatever123 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 The asian Unitas movement in the 005 is very reliable and furthermore you can easily replace it, these movements are pretty cheap. As a rep, the 005 is far more accurate than the 104. Personally I would prefer the 005 as it is a historic model and imo PAMs need to be handwind... :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

polaris Posted April 12, 2011 Report Share Posted April 12, 2011 The 104 is a nicer watch imho, date an' all, but the 005 (if dealer has 'em) is a bargain. ~$250 with shipping and you get all the goodies included: Lume, AR, CG, Crown. Everything looking good. The 104 Ultimate hasn't been updated for about 2yrs now. ~$450 with shipping and still needs mods to get it looking good. T48 crown, AR and a re-lume. That's about an extra $300 in mods/shipping. (Even then still iffy with a thin CG and a closed 6 dial[transition year]). Go the 005 or wait (ha as if you could!!) for an updated auto.
