BGGodwin
I never thought of a Pelican case. I bought something on ebay and it's not the best product...
KB
Actually someone else did this a very long time ago, it's a great idea for traveling as you know your watches will be safe from any rough handling. Ken
ExtraExtra
The military love these cases for storing and shipping their rifles, laptops, etc.
permabull
Yes seen some other watch fanatics using these - the bigger ones are great to store more than 6 watches, great protection with all that foam inside and the hard plastic shell. Fairly cheap as well.
JEKS
As someone who had a $14k thermographic camera stolen a few years back, I have one warning re these cases. Yes, they are great physical protection, yes they are waterproof, lockable, etc... But they always scream, "something expensive is inside. Please steal me". Just a thought on what otherwise is a smart choice for anything requiring protection. PS thief was most likely a baggage ground crew person at the airport where it went missing. jchurch
I second what JEKS said... I haven't had mine stolen but I know others who have had theirs taken. In the city I use a backpack for my photography gear (use foam inserts in it for keeping your stuff safe). But those Pelican cases are great. I have three but none for watches. Interesting use though I think I might pick up one and use it. I need another watch case and holder anyhow.
JEKS
OK, so I put them down a bit based on a bad experience. I will say, there are alternatives which may be better in scertain circumstances. I found Hardigg's Stormcase line worked well and took a beating better than the Pelican's we used based on the softer plastic. The Peil's cracked, the Storms gouged. They both protected gear, but the Storms failed in safer way. Regardless, Pelican purchased Hardigg a few years ago, and they now call them the Pelican Storm line and they are good stuff.
