Don't forget if you buy a new movement, someone has to fit it - more money for that. Maybe ask Domi has some working A7750s that he can fit to your watch? Just read Rolexman's post above, and have to concur - don't think too much about it - just get the watch serviced, it's your only real option.

Why don't you contact a respected watchsmith like Domi (in Germany) on this forum and ask him how much he would charge to repair your watch, that would be a starting point.

Of course it's "from his private collection" - where have I heard that before - a well-worn salesman's phrase. I wouldn't be putting down $600 for it but if it's speaking to you, why not.

IMO wear and enjoy them for now. If you find they're keepers, think about servicing them when they start showing signs of problems. Asian 21j are usually rock-solid and don't need any attention for a long time. Look around the forum for a watchsmith in your area. Forget the high street!

I'm sure those gen bracelets come up for sale on TZ or the like from time to time don't they? Wonder what price they go for. Would be a worthy addition to your project IMO.

I'll put up some photos when I get it back from servicing. Unfortunately I've only had this watch on my wrist for a total of about a week, most of the time it's been at a watchsmith - quite frustrating at times. Hope this time when it's back from its travels it's back for good! I requested the matte spray mod only to make the bezel look more gen-like. Any trusted watch modder can do it for you.

That's a great idea. I contacted Davidsen but he said he didnt have anything appropriate - this was a while ago. You might want to try that avenue.

Putting a rep bracelet on a gen case is just wrong! Stick to the leather IMO. Good luck with the build, the 3717 is one of my favorites too.

I've got one of these beauties as well. With fresh AR and relume, and matte spray of bezel and dial. No, it's not for sale. Probably one of the most comfortable watches in my collection, the bracelet is great.
