  1. Just came across this, a vintage "Incabloc" advertisement. It might help in identifying whether you have the Etachron or Incabloc shock protection system in your ETA7750 movement.
  2. Not really true - the rep 318 caseback engraving is pretty close to gen, I've handled the genuine article (and own the rep). And the 318 gen is fairly easily available, as an earlier poster said. Though its always been a couple of $k more expensive than the 005 wherever I've seen it.
  3. From what I hear PAM177L is better quality and more accurate than the recently released PAM177M. You can always find something to mod, it just depends on how picky you are. But these models you listed (especially the closed back PAM318L and PAM005K) and are great out of the box, which is why they've been selling like hotcakes. ps. OP you might want to edit your title, it says 050 instead of 005.
  4. Greek - Looks like you got all the strap answers (and more) that you need mate! I notice the post's from 2007, maybe we need an update with more pics! What a collection Rolli! You give us something to aspire to!
  5. Nice mods, but I prefer it on the amazing bracelet. This Genta-designed classic looks naked on a strap!
  6. Well-said Max. Greek - you obviously know how a forum works - so read through the existing threads, use the search facility, don't expect to be spoon-fed. You're not the first to burst on to the scene with a never-ending barrage of simple simon questions!
  7. You do realise this thread is from April 2010... still a fave watch of mine though. Got a V1 on thick black leather, better than the puny little kevlar 21/18mm it comes with. Most of the forum's trusted dealers can source this beauty for you. It deserves a re-lume and new AR. Asian 7750 movement has been troublefree for me.
  8. I'd guess its a 318... they're just back in stock. The crown spacing is a non-issue for me. A lot of the gens' crowns look just like this one.
  9. Great review B, thanks for your time and effort! Waiting for that 312 release now as well!
  10. IMHO this is the wrong forum for this type of discussion, why don't you guys take it to a WW2 forum, plenty of those around to let loose on...
  11. Hi, 005K will be in stock by the end of the month at all dealers (so they say). Not sure what you mean about the leather/alligator strap, but most of the rep straps are of poor quality (though they have been improving) - better you stump up a little more cash for a quality handmade strap from one of the popular makers on the forum. You'll need to work on that strap collection once you own a Panerai!
  12. Yes seen some other watch fanatics using these - the bigger ones are great to store more than 6 watches, great protection with all that foam inside and the hard plastic shell. Fairly cheap as well.
  13. Please do yourself a favor and stick to one of the forum's trusted dealers, you'll find them here: http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/230-watches-clothing-accessories/ Joshua, Kingwatch, Trustytime among others listed can get you what you need. Don't waste your time with other sellers/websites, there's a reason why this forum has a list of dealers, they provide a superior service and aftersales support. If they don't, you can contact one of the forum moderators to help you sort out any issues you might be having.
  14. The 3717 Pilot Chrono is one of my favorites too, great choice and cool photos! Very nice out of the box, though for me the hour and minute hands were noticeably off in colour. A re-lume of dial and hands is a must. When re-luming its a good idea if the lume can be painted directly on the dial after removing the plastic markers (which are the wrong shape on the latest 3717 V3 anyway). Straps that look great on this watch for me are dark brown alligator and TopGun kevlar. Here's a photo of my two, spot the gen!
  15. In theory would you be able to replace the 177L movement with a 21.6k Seagull one, and switch the "Officine Panerai" plate over to the Seagull?
  16. Is it a coincidence that the Lizamoon attack was launched around the same time? About a million websites have been affected: SEATTLE (Reuters) - More than one million website addresses have been compromised by a sophisticated hacking attack that injects code into sites that link to a fraudulent software sales operation. The mass attack has managed to inject malicious code into websites' links by gaining access to the servers running the databases that power the Internet, according to the technology security company that discovered it. Websense, which first found evidence of the attack earlier this week, has called it 'LizaMoon,' after the name of the site the malicious code first directed its researchers to. On that site and others, users are shown a warning from 'Windows Stability Center' -- posing as a Microsoft Corp security product -- that there are problems with their computer and are urged to pay for software to fix it. Microsoft has no product of that name. The company did not immediately have a comment on the attack. Websense said some Web addresses related to Apple Inc's iTunes service were compromised. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
  17. Some more details: I can wind the watch - the movement seems to wind till I can't wind it anymore, but the seconds hand has never moved and the watch has never functioned.
  18. Just curious to find out what the known issues with the new 177L are. Maybe I'm unlucky but this is the second PAM177L I've got that does not work. The first one I sent to my watchmaker who said it had a pallet fork problem. I remember seeing a post here (which I can't find now) about a common problem with the keyless works, can anyone enlighten me?
  19. Don't worry, you won't be getting a Ti bracelet new from the dealers, I've been told they're out of production! So the Ingy in Ti will be on that less attractive black nylon strap.
  20. This is my good deed of the day. See the website hidden in the quote above?
  21. Hey at least yours works, one of the new 177Ls I ordered came DOA. The crown-stem setup is poor, cant wind the movement at all. Its a beauty to behold otherwise though, one of the best cases IMO. Though I cant comment on if the movement is noisy - havent heard it yet :-)
