  1. Wies, there was a thread in April from another member looking for the same thing. My suggestion is, if he still needs it, buy from a TD, each take a pusher and part out the remainder of the watch. Might be able to recoup most or all of your money. - J http://rwg.cc/topic/183822-wtb-iwc-3714-portugese-pusher-or-broken-watch?do=findComment&comment=1466160
  2. Thanks. I have seen a couple others, though WatchNY no longer seems to be posting them on eBay. thanks for the heads up.
  3. I am working on a Tudor chronograph project and need to find a black bakelite-in-metal-ring style bezel assembly, like the image below. I am not concerned with the diameter, as I can modify the case as needed to accept it. So, anyone know of a good source other than Phong. His looks great, but $350 is a little too rich for my tastes. thanks
  4. That is stunning. The gen dial and hands compliment me the near perfect rep case.
  5. Frank, were I in Cali, I'd try to help out in person, but alas, I'm 3000 miles away as well. That said, the issue may be complicated by the nature of the sale re 'homage' watches. I suggest sending the email string to Paypal (removing contraband references) and showing that you offered something, he refused, and then asked for more. He's admitting he would settle, and they may help you with that. I mean, it can't hurt to try, can it?
  6. I've never seent his before, but I received funds from someone via Paypal and Paypal flagged the incoming finds, warning me not to ship yet. Today, I received this in the body of an email from Paypal. As best I can tell, both are valid emails from Paypal, not spoofs. So, my question is, should I be worried about this transaction? If so, why? The buyer is international to me and I don't want to get burned. Please let me know if you've seen this before. Thank you, J
  7. I assume they must be available from one of the watch or parts vendors. thanks - J
  8. Actually, run away now before systemic infection sets in. It can weaken your cash glands, allowing money to flow freely from your pocket....
  9. My first wristy, gen '84, 10613 Datejust
  10. I know they're not a TD, but does anyone know if http://www.cbrandwatch.com is legit? - J
  11. Denise, I may be a bit optimistic, but did you receive this watch yet? - J
  12. Another simple way to remove the moisture, but not the leak, is to place it in a zip-lock bag with a 1/2 cup of uncooked rice. Leave it for a day and the condensation should be gone. - J
  13. Sound like Watch4Douche. But hey, I don't mind calling an ass an ass. - J
  14. Except, when you are Vlad Putin... http://www.hodinkee....f-his-decl.html OK, so I'm calling him out. BUT, the man has serious cache & is no pushover. He bangs supermodels, kicks virtually anyone's ass in Judo, loves his puppy and tells the West to F*ck off with no worry like Iran's puss "I'm a dinner Jacket" (don't know who I mean?; say the quote fast). Anyhow, he scares the [censored] out of this Western dude, but has great taste.
  15. I've owned a Noob LV and currently have an LV listed with gen parts, including the bezel. The rep Noob bezel on the other watch I had doesn't even come close to the quality of the gen. Just my $0.02
  16. Admin, can you match him with a username with the IP from one of the other sites mentioned?
  17. Cool. Break a leg Gran. PS What branch of science? Sent from my BB
  18. Folks, I have a watch that I would like to remove the hands from. Can anyone explain how a watchmakes would do this and what tools they would use? Additionally, what a enthusiast might use without damaging the hands, movement or dial. Do they simply pull off (pressure fit), etc... thank you - J
  19. Again, if anyone wants to sell the leftovers from oned of these builds, please give me a shout. Thx - J Sent from my BB
  20. Your experience makes me think of quotes from a couple of my heroes. Good try Hike. Get well, get settled and get planning your next attack on Chomolungma
  21. TA, I've got you down for the hand set. Doc, I'll put you tentative for the extra strap as I may take a liking to it myself... we'll see. have a good weekend all.
  22. Max, I think I was grumpy when I wrote it. Sorry mr. Pimp. lol - J
