Railmasters!

Looking for the old style railmaster 2824-2 39mm with 'narrow' numbers and nickel plated rotor rather than gold color. These are not easy to find atm...anybody tell me where they got theirs.

So far I've come accross these:

Prices range from 200 dollars to 300 dollars with jandrew. Although not sure if silix 200 dollar version is the same as the others but it certainly looks as if it is.

Basically it has to be this one:

Anybody bought any railmasters recently and have anything to say about the quality or any other input.

Cheers!

Yeah trust me to suddenly get a craving for an old classic watch that is now as rare as hen's teeth to find. Some of the dealers listed above have pics on site listing it as having nickel plated finished movement....others are saying they haven't been available since 2009, only gold finished movements available....I don't know what to believe!

I guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and order and then reject on the QC pics if not as stated. I also see pt uk has the one in the 2008 review above still listed on his site...if it's the same one as the review then great but I won't hold my breath! Anyway thanks!

While not an Omega or a REP, if you want that Railroad style in a gen "Tritium 24x7 glowing" tough as nails 5000g force anti-shock, double AR, watch you might want to check out a Ball Fireman II.

See my review here:

Just a thought... Hell of a high quality Gen with great heritage behind it. You can probably score these for around $750.

Cheers guys, Ronin that's a lovely Ball watch, read your superb review, I'd been looking for a hommage style railmaster if I couldn't get hold of a decent quality railmaster rep and that might fit the bill. It's a lovely watch in it's own right, sort of reminded me of a pilots watch style casing aswell, or maybe i've just been looking to close at conceptas iwc mark xvi frankens. Definitely a great gen to consider.

On the railmaster front it looks like signumboy may be right, difficult to find, most not in stock or not findable in requested format although Tony at asian7750 says he can get them as asked so may go that route. I do hope he is certain of that!

FxrAndy, I saw your old railmaster pictured going through the old search and yes that was stunning, that's exactly the one I want. You should never have sold it....or rather you should've sold it to me :D

Hmmm, tempting offer Gimme, thanks for posting it. Thing is I have a gen omega brown alligator strap, and a gen bellini handmade alligator strap....just waiting for a railmaster or aqua terra so paying extra for the strap wasn't really what I intended. However the watch looks great, and I will seriously consider it. At mo I'm sort of in negotiations for a used gen aqua terra at a very decent price (2500 calibre style) so if I go ahead with that, my railmaster craving might be satisfied for a while.....although I'm a fickle bstard so maybe not! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Love my Railmaster...doesn't get a whole lot of wrist-time though (so if you're interested, PM me)....this is from Ruby from a few years back....verified gen swiss movement, but it is the gold colored movement...I have a blue Aqua Terra that has the silver movement...I believe that they are supposed to be ETA 2892, but in reality are a Seagul clone movement? AR on the crystal too. Has great lume for a rep, and I honestly think that it has a genuine crock strap. Keeps great time too!!!

I've been trying to figure out how to build a vintage Rail... A CK2914 would be so choice. But I don't think it's gonna happen :(

It's like my CK2915 Speedmaster dream. I'd like to imagine there's a vintage chronograph case out there that will take all the necessary pieces, but...

Maybe 3D printing in steel will become a reality in our lifetime. Fingers crossed! :v:

I have to admit I wasn't really up on vintage railmasters, but did a bit of looking into the CK2914 from your post. I had seen it before, classic looking watch but bloody hell the price on these, wasn't aware they were that expensive. Surprised somebody hasn't done a watchco esque style clone of these and marketed them.
