loosetime Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 These are two Angelus SF-240, as you can see one with alarm and the other one without stem. The bridges to convert. Drilling the hole. Milling the bridge. Milling the wheels holes. The screw threads. Now, remove the Cotes for a brushed finished, and filling the antique alarm key hole. Making a special piece for the anti lock crown sistem. Lo siguiente para evitar que se mueva al girar la rueda, es practicar un agujero de 0.4 mm al lado de la rosca. After electroplating. The movement with another friends. Regards to all
subbiesrock Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 That is some hardcore modification. Great work!

Jkay Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 Very impressive machine work. Thank you for sharing this.
_brian_ Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Great, thanks for the post! I´m not sure I do understand how it works though... Anyhow good to see how it´s done. Thinking about a "minute repeater" mod? Well, that might be the next step...
krpster Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Amazing work there. Thank you for sharing with us.
donerix Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 So - will prices for non-stem wound SF240s go up or the ones for stem-wound movements go down? Can you put a price tag on this conversion?
freeflypr Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 A true artist!!!! Please let me be on your list!!! I am in awe!!! Thank you very much.
freeflypr Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 What kind of tools (machines) are u using? Thanks
mir36 Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Is this our friend from Chile? The purveyor of the Angelus 240 Bridge for stem wind version on the bay? Anyone know which other parts are required to complete the conversion from key-wind to stem-wind?
Watchmeister Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 Absolutely stunning work. Lacking the skills, I have tried and failed to get someone to do this project for years.. Kudos to you. In any case thanks for this post. You have created my horological "Eleanor" (for those who remember the cinematic reference).
Ephry73 Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 I need to find one of these to work on. This will be a year long project using one if Esdee's WL cases.
