tonton2000 Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Well..... I for one am delighted, another watch i've been longing for has arrived in rep form and it looks pretty darn good!!! Sunken date wheel aside, i cant see ant reason not to wear it into an AD should i need to! What is your opinion guys?
mikellem Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 It's the wrong size. Exactly! Too small
tonton2000 Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 Oh man! What size is the gen?
tonton2000 Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 Rep: 41.5mm x 41.5mm Gen: 43mm x 43mm Not really anything in it
zetterdawg Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Rep: 41.5mm x 41.5mm Gen: 43mm x 43mm Not really anything in it where did you guys find reference to the size of the gen? I've looked and found a couple different sizes (including amazon listing it as 38x38) please post linkage. Z
archibald Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 The fit and finish doesn't look up to the level of the non-chrono santos 100, especially on the pushers and dial....looks like they got the crown right, though, which means we MAY see a non-chrono version w/ the right crown.
Rolexman Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I don't like Cartier....... Why didn't they rep the Breit Evolution? I think that one would bring them more bucks!!
dadog13 Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 even if it isn't a perfect rep...i like it...just recived this friday my santos 100 from a member...and i love it...at this moment i have too much chronos...otherwise, i'd get this!
tonton2000 Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 Here's some comparison pics GEN: REP: You can see the size is pretty much the same, going by the fact that both use a 7750 based movt, therefore the subdials will be in the same position on the dial, and then compare the distance from the subdials to the case edge. The finish may be lacking a bit, but a good bit of brushing and polishing would see to that i think
watcher Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 THe case is much larger on the Genuine Chrono100 than the standard 100. THe sizes quoted would appear to be too small as said. I would have guessed at 45mm x 45mm or something of that dimension for the OEM watch.
chrgod Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 A good looking watch.. Its style reminds me of the dashboard of a 1930ties car.. Even though the rep is good, the sunken date ruins the deal for me..
cromodora Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 It's the wrong size. Gen diameter is 42.7mm
JosePR Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 the lower chrono lookes funky on the edging, same as the date
cromodora Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I would like to see some wrist shots....so guys whoever orders this piece first, post some pics.
andreww Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I tried this baby on at the AD yesterday and was quite impressed. I'm not one for four sided watches, but this one really impressed me. It looks big, but doesn't feel big. I'd like to see the buckle on the rep, the gen buckle is quite impressive.
cromodora Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 So anyone who made the order already?
mr1973 Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 As it uses asian 7750, it´s a no go for me...
