$tingray Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Hi guys Todays choice of watch is a Rolex 'The Zigmeistermariner' 1680 fully modded and with genuine crystal etc. I never reallly never thought of it before but it looks like my crystal is "short" Anyone know how many mm there should be between top of crystal and bezelinsert? Tx and hagwe /$
dutchguy2 Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 ON my MBW 1680 with 25-127 crystal there is 2.7mm difference between crystal and Bezel insert.

$tingray Posted September 24, 2011 Author Report Posted September 24, 2011 Mine is ~ 2,2mm but I think that my insert is the issue. (The watch on the pic is genuine and not mine (unfortunately) but it seems that the original insert is more flat)
dutchguy2 Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 The gen looks the same as mine (euhh, should be the other way around)
freddy333 Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 I do not have a 1680, but there is about a 2.5mm rise on my gen T19
$tingray Posted September 24, 2011 Author Report Posted September 24, 2011 I do not have a 1680, but there is about a 2.5mm rise on my gen T19 That looks more like mine. I think that mine will end up like 2,5 with a better insert. Thank you for input!
sly Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 my 1680 on gen. bezel, insert & crystal approx 2.45mm
Nanuq Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 $tingray you can remove your insert and "flatten" it against a hard surface. If it's conical now that eats up some of the high sidewall. You might need to sand its perimeter so it snaps in but flatter might look better. I've done that on most of mine.
