blue_sphere Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 Did WatchMaterial.com stop making those epic inserts or what? Why does it feel like pearls have gone backwards two years?
maxman Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 Im not familiar with watchmaterial.com...but It would be nice if the factories would step up and improve on the pearls. Some of Breitlings(the one on my SA Is very good) are not to bad but the Rollies and Omegas etc... are very disappointing most of the time. As Im sure you know..this is not usually a easy fix....and that sucks. Mike
seafoam Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 I just got this WM pearl and quite like it. but yes, i did have to replace the stock pearl as it wasn't to par. psd upload
bklm1234 Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 I used to like watchmaterial pearl for its sapphire cover. But it hasn't improved on the yellow rim and lume paste. The lume paste esp is dirty very often. I give up using it. But their TT pearl is just awesome with clean lume paste. I just can't understand why the SS version can't be like that. bk
ZedWings Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 Totally agree with OP. I love Omegas, but I hate the rep pearl!! I picked up a gen bezel for my Seamaster chrono. I'll post pics when I have it on.

blue_sphere Posted October 11, 2011 Author Report Posted October 11, 2011 Well I know that you can relume those pearls. I had it done years ago and it looks GREAT... I don't have good pics unfortunately.
Watchmeister Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 I have always assumed everyone was changing the pearl on the WM inserts.I never thought they were particularly good.
woof* Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 I have always assumed everyone was changing the pearl on the WM inserts.I never thought they were particularly good. Are there better out there? I have always thought they were the only ones available, other than epoxy mods.
highoeyazmuhudee Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 theyre not that bad in context
Watchmeister Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 That pearl does look good. I have to take back what I said because all my watches are tritium based and so I tend to swap out the pearl for the more primitive tritium pearls. Historically they come up on Ebay from time to time or another member helped me out and provided it.
giobo Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 theyre not that bad in context Which case is it???
