speedbird100 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 i don't think the bezel is aftermarket, looks pretty good to me! One of my favorites is the gold 6542 with the sword hands. rolex made some pretty interesting 18k models in the late 50s early 60s. several variations.

speedbird100 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Yep, the NCG 1675 is real, uncommon but real. Two main variants: the Dauphine hand and Concorde hand versions. Here is a Douphine hand from Antiquorum. http://catalog.antiquorum.com/catalog.html?action=load&lotid=370&auctionid=221 I think all of the 1675 NCGs had 1570 movements. I have to restate, this is really a 1675, and NOT a 6542. They look similar. Do a google search and there are all kinds of references on this beautiful piece.

So, with something like this, I would feel alot better if I could see the model number (1675) between the lugs (on an authenticated watch). I searched VRF & TZ, but, like everything in my archives, all the gold 1675s have CGs.

alligoat Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 Freddy, me thinks you are stumped! Even an expert can learn something new! Those gold NCG 1675s could have a 1560 GMT (early) or a 1570 GMT (after 64-65). But it was always my understanding that they were very early 60s.

This may very well be 1 of them. But since I have never seen 1 in any of the Rolex bibles or posted by 1 of senior members of VRF/TZ, I would need to see some provenance before I could accept a gold, CG-less 1565-powered (this has to be assumed, since no pics of the movement were posted) 1675 with simple baton hands as fact.
