redwatch Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 Looks great!! I assume the gen sliderule and dial line up nicely?
Monito1975 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Report Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) It´s going to Domi for the slide rule install, so i don´t know yet as you can se the rep slide rules is about 1/2 mm over the gen dial. Edited January 4, 2012 by Monito1975
Monito1975 Posted October 21, 2012 Author Report Posted October 21, 2012 So..... Finally I got a brand new slide rule ....... Here are some pics. I will take some nice pics once DOMI has installed it. GLWS
importr Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 If the gen slide rule is from an Old Navitimer it should fit the gen dial fine. But the potential problem is if it fits the rep bezel. did you measure the internal & external diameter of the gen slide rule? Unfortunately I dont have a rep slide rule dimensions to hand but can easily check later. My rep Navi crystal is on its way back from AR coating.... 1
hackR Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 My rep Navi crystal is on its way back from AR coating.... +3...v1 arabic white dial Navi, v1 Series Speciale and orig no-date Chronomatic... 1
Monito1975 Posted October 24, 2012 Author Report Posted October 24, 2012 It is going to be trial and error, I have access to gen Breitling parts and I can return this one, I have other parts waiting so I will just pay the difference, I will let all know how it went. from what I have observed overlaping the slide rules over the watch from outside the gen slide rule should fit but it would be nice if some of our Navitimers specialists would measure the rep slide rules to compare. Maybe somebody already tryed this but I doubt it Gen slide rules are very difficult to get except direct from Breitling.
importr Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 From memory, the gen dial diameter is 32.5mm. The rep dial is about 31-31.5mm The outside diameter of the Rep slide rule is 37.5mm. I'll could check my gen Navi Fighter for its slide rule size later (i'm not wearing it right now), but i suspect that the bezel size is different to that of a calibre 23 Navi or even an Old Navi.....? 1
Monito1975 Posted October 25, 2012 Author Report Posted October 25, 2012 That would be great, I think I recall some of our members installing a gen bezel
Monito1975 Posted October 25, 2012 Author Report Posted October 25, 2012 The Gen snide rule is 38.5 and 32.5 so the numbers will be closer to the bezel and the dial will be fully visible
Monito1975 Posted November 2, 2012 Author Report Posted November 2, 2012 Meeting with DOMI on the 9 th, I'll take some pics. ;-)
Monito1975 Posted November 10, 2012 Author Report Posted November 10, 2012 Ok guys, I visited DOMI today, and guess what? The insert was 1.5mm to big on the outer diameter, so DOMI asked me how much was the insert(200 euros), he said take it back and get another part for it..... I asked if it could be done and he said yes but I will not be responsible for any damages, I said ok I trust you, after 15 minutes he had it shaved and installed. As you can see from the pic above the original has a 2mm lip on the outside I have to mention as well that it sits very tight on the bezel and thus the bezel is harder to turn, also the numbers align and are closer to the crystal as per Gen. Here are the pics as promised now only the case is left from the rep althought I am looking for a dial with SS stabs. All the bestDomenico you are a genius thank you again.
Monito1975 Posted November 10, 2012 Author Report Posted November 10, 2012 Sorry about the lousy pics but I was in a hurry, there is no difference on the creamy tone between the dial and insert it just the light I think....
rosnik Posted November 16, 2012 Report Posted November 16, 2012 Domenico you are a genius thank you again. +1 1
Monito1975 Posted November 16, 2012 Author Report Posted November 16, 2012 Another pic a bit better and a wristie 1
