danza1812
I'm considering another 42mm po project. I could just do with knowing if the dealers have sorted out the he valve positioning. God knows why they moved it down the case when it was ok to start with. I've never bought from Josh or Andrew, at what point do I request qc pics. If so, any ideas where to get one from. I plan on using it as a base for a gen dial and hands swap out. Many thanks Matt
sgtguk
Hi Matt, Got mine from Josh and it's a great rep with the correct placement he valve, he originally had a problem finding one with it and offered one with he in lower position but when asked he found some new stock for mine, he will send qc pics etc when payment sent for the watch, mine took 2-3 days but be patient they are good guys the 42 is a great piece by the way! danza1812
Cheers, Ill look at buying one. I wonder why the he valve is so big on the 5th gen? Has anyone bought one from replicamake, the price seems slightly better? Regards Matt
rychastings
toro bravo has them with correct he valve positions. im not sure if the rest of the dealers have their act together with the he valves but I guess you could always email them to ask
danza1812
Who is toro bravo? Would this be the 5.5version with shorter he valve and correct placement?
ryaku
AFAIK there's no 42mm PO version with an accurate HV
kbh
The 4th gen had them perfect from what I could see. Also, from what I remember of the original 5th gen they were in the right position but the valve was the wrong size.
wat44
Trevor and Mary both have 42mm with correct he
danza1812
I know the valve is bad, it's just the placement. I have a gen valve to arrack so I just need an accurate case to fit it to. I've pm'd Trevor. Will gen dial and hands fit on Asian eta?
bamcky2k
gen dial and hands fit my 45mm planet ocean franken with asain eta 2824-2 with very little probs...i did have to make the center holes ever so slightly bigger tho, im talking a fraction of a mm, to make them fit and sit right. danza1812
That was going to be my next question about the fit of the hands. I may just get a gen eta movement instead. Trevor does have models with correct he valve.
Watchmeister
If he isn't already, Toro should be joining as a dealer shortly. We just got to get his section set up.
Noel Fleischer
Cheers, Ill look at buying one. I wonder why the he valve is so big on the 5th gen? Has anyone bought one from replicamake, the price seems slightly better? Regards Matt ReplicaMake has been kicked off every single board this past fall. Alot of customer service issues. You're better off with Tony @ Asian 7750.
danza1812
Cheers, went with Trevor so I'm waiting qc photos. Any advice on he valve and crown modifications?
wat44
Don't buy from replicamake - if anything goes wrong, you are on your own. I bought a gmt with aftermarket waterproofing - it leaked like a sieve and the mvt was buggered on arrival. I still have this watch.......
cougar1
There's still a few floating about with low He, looks to me like many dealers trying to offload a fcukup in the manufacturing to unsuspecting newbies etc....eventually it will iron out but be careful. You'll be fine with trevor, at least if you see a dodgy he in the qc pics he'll sort you out with a good one without fuss. Also I hate all this talk across the fora of a V5.5....there never was a V5.5, there was a V5 and then there was qc fcukups in the manufacturing. I don't know where the term was coined but it doesn't help the confusion.
cougar1
Btw the eta clone is fine for all mods on the 42mm, you should not have any problem with the hands.
danza1812
Yep. Qc pics look great. Wiz on rwi lined up to do my mods. Appreciate all the help.
wat44
I tried on a gen 42mm yesterday - do all the reps have silver date font like the gen?
danza1812
I always buy a gen eta date wheel as to me the bright white numerals make a big difference to the duller silver numbers.
ryaku
Couldn't agree more, I can't stand the cheap printing of rep DWs either
danza1812
Ok, here's my Franken po. This time, went for a gen dial, hands, dw, crown/tube, he valve and rubber strap. Considering bezel and crystal at some point but for the cost I think I'll grab a bk sub as an extra piece. He valve placement was perfect by the way. My modder did a great job of working the case to fit the gen valve.

triplehd
Do you need the gen HE valve too to fit the gen HE Valve to the case or can you use the rep tube for the gen HE Valve?
Watchmeister
I tried on a gen 42mm yesterday - do all the reps have silver date font like the gen? At some point I owned a gen 45mm (long gone now) and I don't remember it having a silver date wheel.
