Original Scope
Hi all, it has been a long time since I have had anything really to post. Due to some family and economic problems I have tried to stay away as this site is torture when your broke and cannot afford a hobby you truly love. In the past few months I was planning a franken Daytona project that went to @#%$& due to being ripped off from a dealer I will disclose in the near future if not resolved. When going back to the planning stage I thought about the total cost of the Paul Newman Franken build and took a left turn. Here are the specs........ Gen Omega 861 winding movement(serviced and running at +3 a day) and gen dial and hands from 1984 New replacement case from Ofrei New replacement band from Ofrei And the pics of a spanking new Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch I am more than happy with my choice. It beat out the Daytona anyway and went to the moon

redwatch
My all time favorite!! Great build. If you don't mind me asking, did it save you much money over the cost of the gen?
krpster
Very nice! I am also curious about how you made out with cost. Great result regardless.
lhooq
[censored] the franken Daytona, and enjoy the Speedmaster! Congratulations!
Original Scope
Thanks guys, The price of the case and strap are about a grand. It would be around fifteen hundred for a new movement but I found a deal on a older one and dial. I came out a lot better than my Daytona budget and I have a Gen. Lovecraft
I'd much rather have that watch than a daytona. The Speedmaster is probably my favourite watch of all time. Your watch looks great!

It'sAboutTime
Looks to me like your Daytona build took the right turn. Had everything gone according to plan, you wouldn't have ended up with this beautiful Speedmaster!
