homecd Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Special thanks to Ephry!!! I had a problem with pushers. Today, I have received the replacement of the pushers from Ephry. And here is the completion of my tudor chronograph. 1
redwatch Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Very nice!! Although technically that is a 7032. The 7031 has a black Bakelite bezel instead of the stainless steel one.

krpster Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Very nice. Wish I could find a Bakelite bezel to fit the DW case. Love to have a 7031.
danza1812 Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 I would love to know more about these Tudor chrono reps. I'm wondering what would be a good base for mods/Franken as my next project.
homecd Posted April 7, 2012 Author Report Posted April 7, 2012 Spec please. DW case set with new pushers Valjoux7734 with 45 min count Aged dial with vintage lume
JEKS Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 I too would love to build one. Anyone know of a good case with crown guard and the bakelite bezel other than tudor? Maybe some Rollie model I'm not aware of. I am thinking of having one drilled for the pushers if I can locate one for less than Yuki's case ($). thank you - J
danza1812 Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Pardon my ignorance what's a dw case? Are eta 7734's still available? is there an alternative movement?
ogladio Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Pardon my ignorance what's a dw case? Are eta 7734's still available? is there an alternative movement? DW roughly equates to David Wong, http://dw-watches.net63.net/wordpress/, not sure if it's safe to order from the site now, were some issues with orders long overdue. For eta7734, you can browse for donor watches at eg ebay, not sure if other movements exists with same specs. Experts can hopefully assist you further
gimme Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 is there an alternative movement? Nope. The 7734 is the only one that will work.
Ephry73 Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Home glad you got the pushers! Looks great. You did loctite the pushers, right? I cannot wait to start working on mine. DW is out of the bakelite bezels but you can find some on ebay.
gplracer Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 What was wrong with the pushers and what did you use for a replacement. My 7032 has a pusher that has come unscrewed from the case. It has been sitting here for the last several weeks but I might take it on tomorrow. I am wondering how to get apart the section of the pusher that came unscrewed from the case. I assume it is two parts.

DW is out of the bakelite bezels but you can find some on ebay. I forgot to put the loctite, but will do it soon. If I find a black bezel with reasonable price, I will replace it. danza1812 Posted April 8, 2012 Report Posted April 8, 2012 I haven't read good reports about DW and the qc issues. But almost seems worth a shot at $190. Anyone bought one recently? Matt
Ephry73 Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 The ones he received were DW ones. I have used the phong ones and ofrei. Ofrei tends to be better. The Phong ones had a hex arrangement that was not gen like from what I've seen, but worked well.
edgematic1 Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 what is the product code for the ones from ofrei?
Olivax Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 Yes, pls send the links for ofrei pushers. Thanks
mrboombasteke Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 How much did the pushers set you back. I have one that needs replacing.
Ephry73 Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 $49 plus shipping. These have the double o rings which is an added safety. http://www.ofrei.com/shop-bin/sc/order.cgi?rd=1&storeid=*10fa454a1006b280cd4f&sbid=SSMSB1334621862.7335&redirect=yes E
JEKS Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 Sorry if this is a dumb question, but can you remove and replace the stainless bezel assembly on the DW case or is the bezel actually a solidly connected part of that cas? If it is removable, what type of bezel assemblies will fit it? Danke - J
Ephry73 Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 It is completely removable. This is how you "lock" the crystal to the case and ensure a good seal. I don't have a gen bezel to try, but from the looks of it, gen fits the case kits from DW. E
JEKS Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Very interesting, thanks. Does anyone know if a gen or aftermarket bakelite tacometer bezel assembly will screw onto the this same case, replacing the solid one? Sent from my BB
