danielv2000 Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 I've got a bracelet with one extra link. Problem is, the screw is as stubborn as i've seen one. Any ideas on what to do? I have no other options except swapping out the bracelet!
oldtools Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Try some heat. It may be easier to put the bracelet in a pan with some cooking oil and heat the pan to about 300-350 degrees F.
Nanuq Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Are you SURE it's a screw head and not a split pin?
Jkay Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Yeah Nanuq is onto something here. What watch are we talking about.
danielv2000 Posted June 17, 2012 Author Report Posted June 17, 2012 It's the oyster on a TW sub fom BK.
tode1640 Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 I once had a screw on a PAM that absolutely wouldn't budge - I tried heating it, soaking it in WD40 and putting in a lot of elbow grease. In the end I took it to a jeweller who did it for me for free, while he was doing some other work. I think it helps to have *exactly* the right screwdriver, and possibly to know how to use it!
sneed12 Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Worst case, drill it out or take a bolt cutters and cut the link. Links are cheap.
sgtguk Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Try some WD40 soaking it overnight should do it, if not dynamite is good Seriously though the links are cheap and if you knacker it up I'm sure one of us will have a spare we could send you!
