thomasng Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 http://www.replicacollector.com/members/in...mp;#entry152267 Holy crap, this is another dead-on piece. I'm getting a black dial one for sure. Anyone else?
turkey Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 I think the link should be http://www.replicacollector.com/members/in...showtopic=27066 I can't wait. They should just send my paycheck to the dealers.
ahchard Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 This one looks HUGE..... but very pretty.... what size is it?
JWR Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 you have NO idea how long i've been waiting for a chopard driving watch.
thedoctor Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 That watch is a beauty. I would get it in a second if it didn't have the asian 7750. I would prefer it with a 2824 or 2836 even if the 7750 was the more correct movement.
JWR Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 i'm curious as to why 7750 for a center-seconds non chrono.
thomasng Posted November 9, 2006 Author Report Posted November 9, 2006 i'm curious as to why 7750 for a center-seconds non chrono. That's what the genuine uses.

dadog13 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 OMG...the new releases are coming out as mushrooms....they are preparing us for the xmas time...probably then will be released!
qwert750 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Please forgive my ignorance here, but my understanding is that the 'typical' seconds position on the 7750 is at 9 o'clock - does this watch having the seconds at center require modification to make it more complicated, i.e. like the seconds at 6 o'clock daytonas, or modification to make it less complicated, potentially increasing its reliability? I've always loved the look of these Chopards, but don't want something that will be breaking down. Thanks...
coolfire Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Holy Maloney... I'm gonna be a broke man this X'mas!... Sweet piece...
FxrAndy Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 That's what the genuine uses. I asked this on TRC but why does the gen use a 7750 based movement?
jamesg Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Yep, I'll be broke too... Angus is going to be very busy counting the $$$ from all these AP & Chopard orders
Guest Sql_pl Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Oh My God! WOW! That's all I can say right now!
JWR Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 Interesting the way the genuine caseback crystal extends far beyond the actual movement, showing the spacer ring (and, most interestingly, the crown stem, which is pretty damn ugly)... i almost wish they did the rep of the solid back special edition with the map of the mille miglia on it...
FxrAndy Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 Copyed over from TRC, the expanation for the movement "the gen one is using ETA-A07111 movement and only two watch brands are now using this movement and this movement is not sold to third parties like ETA-2836-2, ETA-770 and other ETA movements. So we can only use A7750 to replicate this, at least I see they are observable same in major ways" it makes sence, and makes me think about the IWC Big pilot as we were wondering if the valranges ETA-A07111 was being copyed to run in the IWCBP. This one factory is not involved or they may have delayed release of this one untill the movement was ready. I still think that we will see the IWCBP with a modded 7750 ticking away inside it, can our experts confirm if a power reserve can be fitted to a 7750? I will post this bit also in the Big pilot thread as well.
offshore Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 You know fxrandy.... posts like this, thrust you in to the WIS fraternity! Luv it... this sort of input is really what we are all ( hopefully) about here... genuine interchange and discussion about watches, movements.... rep or real... but WIS discussion nevertheless. Thank you. And thank you to all those who contributed to this intriguing thread... thomasng for launching it, and all the others with their input. And I see in your avatar & sig, little in the way of smut, soft porn, forum abuse, or the like. Just a genuine love of watches, in all their forms. Good to see REAL members contributing REAL discussion. Offshore
