chocho
WOW! That watch is pure sexuality have you made love to it yet ? Im definatly considering purchasing one of his 6538s specialy now that I read how far he went to right the minor defects. CC put some pics of his 6538s at http://www.rwg.cc/topic/148404-first-build-a-6538-could-use-some-opinions-sugestions/ if you guys could way in on the 3 with any opinions on changes to ask for before I order that would be awesome I feeling the 2 line glit dial but with th ecase on the 1st watch in the pics with th evintage finish on the bezel as well as the hands. GREAT 6265 CC good purchase at 6K imo for a rare watch that not to many people own with a gen Rolex movement sure for 6k you can get a used gen suby or something similar that everyone and their mother owns If they fit I would recomend a http://www.thomaspreik.de/ that movement is meant to be displayed imo its absolutly breathtaking ! may you enjoy it for many many years. freddy333
cc33 - I know these pre-assembled frankens are controversial (due to their high cost vs value of gen counterparts) & it is a beautiful timepiece, but I have 2 comments that I think bear attention - 1. The square index markers should be unpainted/mirrors on white Newmans (they are only painted black on the black version). 2. The movement looks pretty, but I would encourage you to have it professionally overhauled (disassembled, cleaned, oiled & timed) asap. Otherwise, enjoy it. cc33
Thanks Freddy, I know these schmucks can't get it right, lol. You would think at these prices that they would have the right colored squares but it seems that they don't. My 1000$ minh dial has silver ones that should be black and this one (600$) has black ones that should be silver! Maybe I should just have a professional swap the markers... Don't even know if that can be done. I did get it serviced, it was 300$ by an old pro.
freddy333
Not to worry. They all get the details wrong. Remember, I had to hand-paint the markers on my black MQ dial
flex
sorry for bumping this old thread. Some of the memebers (including myself) have done a Phong 6263. One of the member here also has done a full gold model. all of us have used the geninue dial. The watch is too good for a refnished dial. There are lots of threads on VRF on the controversial PN dial. I dont know where you live - but the country that I live in - if you happen to wear a PN and know of 1 collector, they wil ask you for a GTG where 5-6 Rolex colletors will look at your dial under scrunity..... to me, i always go for a gen 6263 dial. even a normal 6263 is a stunner. http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/thread/1261920534/1262135065/%26quot%3BPaul+Newman%26quot%3B+6240+%26quot%3BPanda%26quot%3B+dial http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/thread/1248146413/Loved+the+PN+discussion-++here+are+some+new+pics+--%
cc33
I agree, I recently sold both my rep pn dials, and bought a gen sigma dial from net54 with some patina, for 1400 euros!! It's being put on as we speak. Sweet deal I think.
