Bezel insert change classic SD

Hi folks,

I get my knife underneath the bezel but I can't lift it. Even with a lot of pressure. I'm affraid I will mess it up if I any harder..

In this video it's seems quite easy..

But unfortunately it's not that easy.

What should I do?

He's talking about the bezel, not the insert. The original SSD comes off pretty easy. No idea about the new one.

Stop.... step away from the SeaDweller.

Do not take the bezel off. If you want to change the insert, that's easy. Dig out the pearl, heat up the insert and pry it out from the hole.

If you try to remove the actual bezel it will most likely get bent and you'll be very sorry. These are not like the gen in your video.

Thanks!! I thought it was the same proces since TC has a link to this vid as well. I assume his cases are different.

Anyway.. I will try to pull out the insert that way. The pearl got lost.. that's why I need a new bezel.

I would be very pleased if somebody knows a good source for a classic SD insert btw.

How "classic" are we talking here? If it's a 1665, that's the wrong pearl/insert.

I have the latest ultimate SSD and want to also change the insert. I have access to a Rolex bezel remover will this prevent the bezel from getting messed up?

Do not remove the bezel ring if all you want to do is change the insert. Not worth the risk.

The title of the thread told me that he wanted to remove/change the insert so I told him the easiest way to do it.

OK so even with a rolex bezel remover it wont make a difference? I would really like to get my gen insert installed with out breaking my lil SSD which is getting some tasteful mods

It's the classic SD from Andrew. Not the vintage.

I removed it really easy with a hairdryer.When the glue gets hot you can turn the insert a couple of rounds and then it pop's up.
