This poor AP has seen better days. I decided to strip it down, and re-finish the bead blasted sections as well as restore the polished area's.

Here's the before condition:

All the polished edges were hand finished

Below are pictures of the genuine AP, I think I did a good job matching the finish.

Is that a titanium case?

If so can you tell me any tips you have about polishing it as i can never get Ti any thing like what you show there, either on a watch or a bike

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, this is a Ti case.

For the polishing, the case edges were first done with a fine buff stick, (vs using a buffing wheel to avoid polishing the parts that are not polished) then final polishing with 8000 grit sandpaper draped over the buff stick.

For the caseback and the bezel, the polishing was done with Simchrome metal polish, and a buff in the rotary tool.

Hi.
Your work is awesome!!! You are truly a artist in this field.

I would love for us to work together on a Franken project.
I just don't want to be here and never worked with the master

I dont think you did a good job matching the finish. I think you did a outstanding job matching the finish. Beautiful work as always R. :)

Taking a second look I can see that depth and "sparkle" of the bead blasting which is evident on the gen and your rework. The rep (the case is from a chronopassion) clearly had a much more superficial refinish which may also explain why the rep scratches so easy.

out standing work ... looks so much better now and closer to the gen then the crap .. NF finish ... Enjoy !!

Very nice work !

Did you do the bead blasting yourself? If so what grade / size beads did you use and where were the sourced from. I brought a little air brush sized sand blaster recently but having trouble identifying the type of beads to get.

Sorry for OT, but i cannot seem to PM you

He is a long-standing watch maker here on the board and has a lot of work from his customers, all the time. He occaisionally disconnects his PMs so that he can concentrate on his standing work list, and not accept new work temporarily. I'm sure he'll be back in PMs soon enough.
