Insert Authenticity check, please! New Pics!

I need some help to validate the authenticity of this insert. The insert is new in a wrapper but the wrapper has been opened.

I've done my comparison with gen pics and the available educational material over at TRF from Orchi and Springer.

Experts, please chime in before I pull the trigger.

Of course my source of comparison is a lowly 1675 GMT from a bygone era but there are specifics that tell me your photo is a fake. At least as compared to my lowly and threadbare (gen) insert.

Most egregious is that in your photo the "22" is covered up. How.................................. convenient.

The font kerning for the 12, 14 and 16 are too widely spaced

The looks like the dreaded "2 overhang" is there

I dunno. If it's a rep then it's a good one. Better photos would help .... which is another tell-tale sign of a masquerading rep part.

Nanuq, I had my doubts given the overhang or hooked 2. It does seem to extend a little further at the top.

But I am not 100% sure. It's an insert for a sapphire GMT Master II.

If he can't trouble himself to take it out of the open wrapper for a pic...

How can you even tell that, I can barely see it thru the plastic wrap

1.)You need to know what to look for.

2.) A good reference...books,pics etc.

3.) Packaging

4.) A gen insert in front of you doesn't hurt either....

5.) Sellers feedback/reputation

if you want to be 100 % have him take a pic of the front and back out of the package.....

From the 4, 14, 18, triangle and the dots on the insert, I'd back up Janeto.

Looks like a legit service insert to me too.

Those aren't that expensive though. You get them on VRF for around $100-150

My AD swapped the insert for my 16710. The price was 50 Euros. They let me keep the old insert too.

The old one had a different font (Serif). All the newer GMT's (post 2004 and the service inserts) come with the standard font.

Hmm.. I wonder if my local AD would sell me one? I might try that.

The seller is reputable over on TRF. Better pics are on their way.

To me, it looks like the 8 is completely out of the red.
