watchman12345
Been collecting on and off now for a while and recently suffered the addiction again. Here are a few pics of where I am at the moment. Enjoy. One of the first reps I got was the Navitimer. It's a good rep but the sunken date bothers me. With the range of super-reps we have now it does feel a step below them. No AR on the crystal either. I don't wear it any more but I will never get rid of it. Still works great after 5 years. Next is the 5th gen Planet Ocean 42mm with Asian DG4813. The very first rep I bought was a 4th gen PO. I lost it and had to replace it when I got interested again. This is the 28k high beat Asian movement. I firmly believe this is one of the best watches you can buy for the money today. $140 gets you a very smooth sweep, great AR, solid construction, sapphire crystal, and I've showered and swam with it no problems. This is a serious serious watch for the money. All I've done is add thicker springbars which help to keep the endlinks nicely tight to the case. The famous TTK noobmariner was one of the first cheap and good 21J subs. It cost about $90 new and is/was a serious bargain. Great case and the 21J is still ticking after a few years. This is for sale to make way for a gen Steinhart sub. The 3717, what a beauty. This is modded by Vac with superlumed and thinned markers and superlumed hands. The crystal is rep and the AR is very nice with a gen-like blue hue. Date-wheel lines up perfectly and it gains about 3s per day. Love this watch and it's currently on a nice cheap BOB strap. The Panerai 111 Noob v3 is probably one of the most famous watches on the forums, yet I feel it is quite easy to call out as a rep if you look at the movement. I had some work done by Marlin and now I am extremely happy with this watch. If I want to wear a low call out watch then this is what I reach for. You'd really need to know your Pams to confidently say this is rep. The latest addition is the Tag Carrera Racing. Lovely rep and close to gen. Debating whether I'll go about modding this. ETA date-wheel and movement screw swap and it will be pretty good. A nice dress watch is badly lacking so I am looking at the moment. Thanks for looking. initram5
I really like your collection. I have a 3717 and the 111 is on the way. Omega Planet Ocean on the wishlist. Never wated the PAM 127 or Big Pilot? They would fit your collection.
watchman12345
A dress watch is next on the list I think. I love the big pilot too but it will be a while.
initram5
Dress watch is a bit difficult. I work in suit almost every day so I am constantly looking for nice dress watches too. I was dreaming about the IWC Portoguese with white face + blue hands but the replicas are not too nice and there is an issue with the movement as well, they say. So I still could not find the perfect one. Do you have any good idea about dress watch?
watchman12345
I am looking at the montblac timewalker and getting a nice brown leather strap for it. Seems to be a good rep. http://www.trwatch.c...products_id=426 Also considering a Tissot Visodate Automatic gen.
cougar1
Very nice collection watchman, I like the variation. Something for every occasion.
cougar1
A pure dress watch is a difficult thing to find. The portofino as mentioned earlier or the VC patrimony date is a good one also: http://www.puretime.co/product/patrimony-date-41mm-ss-white-dial-on-leather-strap-a2824/
Buxsquad
Nice collection! Where can you pick up that fifth gen PO for $140? I really like that VC Patrimony...anybody own one? Thoughts?
cougar1
Try Trevor on the 5th gen although I think he is on extended Chinese NY holidays atm. Puretime has the VC, getting good feedback, very good for a basic dressy watch, although it is a rehash of an old model. The new portofinos are nice and also the AP RO look a decent dressy addition. Buxsquad
Thanks for the response! What is the general opinion of tha PO seems like good deal for $140, but I am new to rep watches! Have one Pam Ti from Andrew that quit running after a few months! Any suggestions where to get it serviced in US? Thanks.
sgtguk
Great collection watchman you have everything covered right there in the box already if you want a dress watch have you considered a PP Nautilus at all ?

chango
Awesome collection!! What kind of work did you have done on the Panerai? And is that the strap that came with it? If not, what kind of strap? Thanks for sharing watchman!!
watchman12345
I got the Pam modded by Marlin. It has the Y incabloc and the longer micrometric screw. This is the state of play at the moment. Really want a Diver V3.5 and the new MK XVII but I'm trying so hard to resist. And a close up of the additions... My favourite, the Noob IWC Vintage Ingenieur. I love this. And a gen Steinhart Ocean One Vintage Red. Good solid watch, ETA 2824 and 300m WR The PO got a bit of a spruce up too...
