rrari1
I am looking for a nice dress watch in stainless steel with a white face. I quite like the look of this Breguet, but have no idea if it is a good or bad rep. I took a look on their website, and found some similar watches, but not identical. What do the Breguet experts on the forum think of this, or are there any better reps in a similar style? http://www.1-pc8838.com/br10001-classique-white-asia-manual-handwind-p-3083.html What are the most accurate dress watch reps available? rrari1
After a bit more searching, this one looks quite good, but the gen is 35.5mm and this is 39mm http://www.1-pc8838.com/br01006-classique-automatic-4927-ssle-white-asian-2892-p-8811.html Edited to add pic Edited December 6, 2012 by rrari1
late
I really like the second one, with the Clone ETA, too, but have not been able to find anyone that can still get it.

The white gold (or platinum?) wersion of the gen was discontinued, think they still make a yellow gold one.
wat44
we are trying to get angus to get a reverso going the truth is that dress watches sell much worse than sports watches, so there is not the incentive for the factories to make them

rrari1
Thanks for all of the replies. Dosent the IWC 3714 suffer from the same problems as the Daytona with the seconds at 6 movement? Are there any other good reps of fairly simple dress watches available? Are there any with closed case backs, as the biggest give away with the Breguets is the undecorated movements in the reps. I've only started my search for a good dress rep, and would love some input. The Nautalis and AP RO are still sports type watches, i was looking for something I would wear with a suit.

late
The Cartier Santos and Ballon reps are not too bad. This FC shouldn't be too hard to rep. I'd buy it with an ETA clone. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Frederique-Constant-Automatic-Date-Silver-Guilloche-Dial-Classic-FC-303MC4P6-/400358146808?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item5d373482f8 although it's affordable enough to just buy the gen. Its funny, I was just looking at the gen of that Fredrique Constant. It costs $1500 on amazon USA and GBP 1500 on Amazon UK. Seems the currencies must have reached parity when i was not looking. I love those two watches Hike. Where did you buy them?

panerai153
I really like the IWC. i have a genuine IWC Calatrava, which I bought probably 10-12 years ago on Ebay for around 600 USD. 14k Gold ,White dial, very thin and a beautiful dress watch. Here is a bad photo, needed to be cleaned up and polished a bit before the photo session!!

rrari1
are the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony's considered good reps? Any experts? http://www.ttw168.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=43&products_id=
digitalnrg
Doesn't the 3714 explode after a month? Very nice watch What is the model? IWC Portugeese 3714. It's notoriously known for poor movement because of running second at 6. I like it so much so I bought it anyway. She's mounted on a gen alligator strap. Lets hope she lasts until the factory comes up with a better movement

rrari1
Glashutte Senator Sixty! Simple, elegant, excellent rep. But good luck finding one. I just found the Senator 60's on Andrews site, but once again it is way bigger than the gen. Gen is 39mm and rep is 43. I find it amazing that not one dress watch is even decently repped. http://www.ttw168.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=28&products_id=4090
rrari1
It is starting to look like some of the best dress watch reps are Patek Phillipe Calatrava's. They seem to be roughly the same measurements as the gens, and they have closed case backs. Many of the dress watches I have looked at have display backs, which is a huge tell. Any Patek experts on the forum who can suggest the best reps? Edited December 10, 2012 by rrari1
rrari1
OK, I'll stop driving everyone nuts with my questions soon. This Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Power Reserve seems to be a fairly good dress watch rep. Also it is a rep of a reasonably priced Gen. The rep http://www.ttw168.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=43&products_id=540 The Gen http://www.watchclub.com/w2910/vacheron-constantin-patrimony-white-gold-power-reserve.html Are there any glaring problems with this rep? Is the fact that the seconns are at 6 a problem, or is that only for chronos? Thanks
wat44
it says 2006 on the site - I doubt its available secs @ 6 no worries, though
