swdivad Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 first time scotch drinker today... thought I'd jump in with this... next I'm gonna try some Japanese whiskey, not sure what though. Slim pickin's here in Bangkok, but a few shops on Tanaya St (Japan Town) that may have some good ones.

gemballa Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 Not really a fan of Macallan until I had this, ACE'd in Chateau Petrus casks. Currently on shelf:1984 Yamazaki*Lagavulin 16yrArdbeg 10Bowmore Darkest 15yrHakushu 12yr*Yamazaki 12yr*Bruichladdich Laddy 10Tullibardine 1993, Sherry Wood *Technically not Scotch from Scotland, but the Japanese are doing wonderful Scotch Method Whisky. I'll second that. Recently made the switch and started buying more japanese Whisky. Some real nice blends.
gemballa Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 This is an absolute favourite of mine - Hibiki 12 year from Suntory
swdivad Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 This is pretty nice, but I'm preferring single malt still
Guest ThePhilosopher Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 Anyone familiar with The Signet, I'm getting a bottle for graduation in May and want to know what I'm in for.
Nanuq Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 There's a 87.335% chance you'll love that Signet.
Guest ThePhilosopher Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 I've only read it's quite good stuff, but I wish I could find a way to get a sampler that wasn't really quite pricey (though I know it's expensive stuff).
altesporsche Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 Going to try to revive this old tread as ive been looking for a few new single malts to add to my collection. I usually pick up a few bottles each month on my way through London on the way home. Im looking for something different, Been hooked on Dalmore King Alexander III for some time now and have tried many others that rated as high, but nothing as good and smooth. Even had the Dalmore Cigar Reserve over Christmas and a bottle of Aberfeldy 21 and still no go... any suggestions ?
